I won't argue about Kap because I just don't know enough about him and I absolutely agree that the QB needs to be the leader. Someone will take a chance on him and it can't be here simply because we don't have the coaching to either help him improve or improvise a game plan.

I don't think it should be up to the QB to improvise in order to help the team win.

That is just the staff smirking to themselves and saying attaboy when they know the player is responsible for them even being employed.

I agree. My post inferred the coaches improvising a game plan to fit the strengths of the QB, not the QB improvising. My bad. I could see where you would interpret my post the way you did from the way it was written.

It took this year to see why Jerry Jones loves Romo. He knows. But he likes it that way and is fearing the post Romo era.

Again, 0-7.. We needed 1-2 games minimum. Jerry talking that if they had Cassell from the beginning and wouldn't be in this position is utter BS.

Any QB in the league should be able to get 1. The game plans were terrible.

I actually agree with him. I do believe Cassel wins a game or two had he had an offseason of preparation in this offense.

This is why I don't blame him for 0-7. I blame that piece of bleep Weeden.

I wouldn't laugh at Kap if he was available. He'd add another dimension to our offense. But he needs a guy that can coach him and that just won't happen here with Red and Wade Wilson. It would be interesting to see what he might do with an offensive coach like Payton.

God, no. That guy sucks. He's an athlete portraying a QB.

I want our next QB to be like our last. Someone with enough improvisational ability and wheels to extend plays but a guy who makes his living as a cerebral pocket passer.

Always funny when someone affirms they know less about football than Jerry.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones loves what Cowboys General Manager Jerry Jones has done when it comes to signing Tony Romo as the franchise quarterback. But owner Jones gives G.M. Jones poor marks for his handling of the backup quarterback position. Jones said on 105.3 The Fan that he has made some mistakes at the quarterback…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2363725&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

He is that...

But the truth is a lot of teams try to "get cute" at the QB spot... just because there's a lack of top-10 QB's out there. I look at what the Bills have done at QB... And the Jets... And Philly... And Washington... And Cleveland...

It's just brutally hard to find "that guy".

You talking to me....you talking to me...

I don't see why all the fuss..

it's clear early on that QB was not the issue that would define the 2015 team..

it was the decision about RB that was going to make or break us.

I have no problem with what has happened with Dez or Romo and their effect on not having adequate backups.

Their cap just prohibits signing and stashing their backups on the team.

Jerrah has been honest in saying he has signed them to contracts making them lifetime players who are not leaving or being released early.

And last year..everybody thought Jones was brilliant and making all the right moves and the Franchise had turned the corner.

Now everybody wants to backtrack and revise it.

Crazy.

Jerrah had no control of the injuries and frankly..

if we look at Murray in Philly..

he isn't leading Philly to any World Championship.

So Jerrah actually made the right decision there, too.

So we can scream about what is wrong, but its been the RB position where we went long on Randle and he flatlined the expectations and Dunbar's injury is just more Dez\Romo injury breaks.

Mc Fadden has been OK and he still may get 1000 yds before the season is done.

So other than not drafting a RB to replace McFadden..

I think that is the only thing where Jarrah could have done better.

The issues with Hardy were expected given his past and he was a calculated risk going in he could really work out.

There is still half the season to go..so that is still not clear yet how it works out.

So while I highly doubt our chances to make the playoffs..

it's not about Jerrah or even Garrett not being good.

Its about key injuries and so many things that is just how it breaks some years for teams.

I wish you guys that are so unhappy and have to have someone to blame would chill.

Life just doesn't work that way..neither does sport nor politics.

Uh oh..let's not go there..huh?

Wow, so Jerry finally came to the realization that Weeden sucks and should have never been on the roster and we should have traded for Cassell in preseason

Hell of an epifany to have in week 10 Jerry, especially considering 95% of the fanbase knew this back in February

Better late than never I guess

The thing I think some of us forget..

is that Jerrah like Vets and he will pay for them.

He's not always right about them being difference -makers..

but he is consistent with believing in them and giving them the chance to help us when other teams ditch them.

He did that with Bledsoe..he did it with Orton..he did it with Bernie Kosar..he did it with several others and it worked..

..some others like Kitna, not so much.

I want to know the future of this team but we have to play it out and see.

The Romo Era is not done and like Ware before him and so many others..

Jones shows a lot of loyalty to those players.

Sometimes you have to look at the player and ask them why they are not here.

Ask Murray..ask Ware..ask Austin..ask MBIII..ask Clayton..ask Bennett..

it ain't becuz Jerrah made mistakes with them..

it's that they flat didn't live up to their contracts..folks.

And like with the QB situation where Jerrah says he got too cute..

I think he's falling on his sword unnecessarily.

The players have to play.

All too often..they take Jarrah's money and cruise on us and then blame the GM.

BS..

I blame the players.

Nah, I don't buy this EGG... If they did, Romo wouldn't have the salary he has. Everyone knows he posted his best season last year when going by QB rating.

The 0-7 record was only partially due to the poor play of the backup QB's.

The defense had a big hand in this.

Special teams had a hand in this.

And I'll say I think the coaching-game planning was way too conservative.

???

I believe you mistook my meaning,,, Romo is top notch and without him (or a high functioning backup) all those things you just mentioned come to the forefront,,,, are revealed, exposed, etc.

No. He knew.
He just thought Romo was good to go for the full year.

Because.... It was CLEAR AS DAY ... that Weeden cannot run an offense.
For heavens sake, instead of stepping up in pocket he backs up into the defenders/sack.

Good riddance/good gone.

What does it say about their player evaluations when it took losing games to figure out that Weeden sucks.

What I took from this was that Weeden really acted like a tool after he got benched, so Jerry wanted to get a dig in.

Jerry said, "we wouldn't have been 0-7 if Weeden didn't suck so bad."

He's right.

Jerry wants to draw as much attention to himself as being the reason we went 0-7.

He wants us to look past the true cause.
