Why do people in positions of authority and great wealth think the rest of us have ape-like intelligence?

Perhaps they just don't care if we believe them or not.

Other posters have eluded to the fact that the Eagles have extra premium picks for the next few years. They can replace outgoing veterans with upper tier talent.

The Eagles will be competitive for several years to come and this is not a bad thing. It will mean the Cowboys must raise their standards if they wish to compete for the division title much less the Super Bowl.

A rivalry for NFC dominance is a reality in most circumstances. Just as the 90's Cowboys had to contend with the 49ers and Eagles, so must this present version of the Cowboys.

So far, this Cowboys team has struggled to keep up. The Cowboys look to descend far in advance of this current Eagles team.

Jerry should be working night and day, 24-7, to make the Cowboys better instead of making excuses or criticizing an Eagles team that is obviously superior.

I totally agree when they say long term because here we are 27 years and counting, now if that's not long term I don't know what is!

The Eagles make decisions on personnel that prove to be mistakes, regrettable contracts, poor draft choices, like every NFL franchise. They, however, have an owner that subscribes to the old Reagan adage “There is no limit to the amount of good you can do, if you don’t care who gets the credit”. Lurie is fine letting Roseman be the hero, and Lurie is fine taking the blame for his team’s failures. The caveat is repeated failure and Lurie terminates Roseman. That’s how almost all NFL franchises work. The Cowboys are peculiar in that their owner wants the credit for the team’s success and there is no one above the head coach position to fire for repeated failure. The Philadelphia Eagles are not that much better on the field than the Dallas Cowboys, right now. For that, Jones should be commended. The unique hierarchy in his FO leads to decisions and results being more personal than they should be.

Jerry thinks the Eagles are "betting it all on this year alone". That is pretty scary he can't even understand how other teams are functioning or their current status. Also says a lot about his ability to assess his own team.

An excellent assessment. Jerry Jones has done a disservice to every Cowboys fan, past and present. Instead of increasing the probability of success for the Cowboys by hiring a competent GM, he has assumed the title. I wish it was only to grab credit if they actually succeed one year. Unfortunately, it's more disturbing than that. He actually thinks he has some expertise in football related aspects including coaching, gameplanning and playcalling

How many fans today can ever remember watching an interview or press conference with the Cowboys original owner Clint Murchison? I'm sure there are a few rare videos. However, the only football related decision he ever made was in hiring Tex Schram as the Cowboys GM. Tex took it from there.

Well, if Hurts keep improving, they'll remain a contender for the next 6-8 years.

Imagine being critical of teams actually making the Super Bowl.

"Well yeah, they made the Super Bowl or whatever but LOOK AT THEIR CAP."

Asinine.
EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jerry you moron, 99% of us don’t give a shi_ about winning 12 games and losing in the Divisional round 10 years in a row! We want to WIN a SUPERBOWL!! Then we will worry about CAP issues!

Have you forgotten Jerry the only thing that leaves you a legacy is SUPERBOWL WINS! Your Super Bowl drought is seriously tarnishing your legacy and OURS!

Jerry, go all in this year, and STOP talking!
You sound like a moron when you open your mouth.

Ya know, I would really remain silent before I admitted to not trying to bet it all to win.

PHL and WAS bet it all and lost but do their fans wish they'd never bet?

LA bet it all and won, think their fans wish they hadn't after this year? Don't think so, the knowledgeable ones know the injuries hammered them.

PHL is not only poised to win it all this year, for the 2nd time in 6 years but they do not have to wreck this team and still have some draft picks from last season to emerge like Davis and Dean. And the 6th pick in this draft.

Ha, Jerry thinks this a virtue. Hey Jerry, all that "long term" thibking has gotten you what exactly? If you think any longer term, you won't live to see anything. Idiot.
