Cowboys owner and General Manager Jerry Jones has offered some criticism for his team’s coaching staff. But he’s also accepting some criticism himself. Specifically, after Jones said that he thought the coaches should have done a better job coaching up the team in the wake of Tony Romo’s injury, Jones acknowledged that he’s the one…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2368203&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

Not surprised Weeden was a Jones decision.

Idea for the future: When it comes to QB, Jones needs to park it and keep his mouth shut. The QB position is not a place for pet projects.

The worst part about this is that he's going to have to take the blame for signing Cassel as he's equally as inept as Weeden.

Precisely. It's good that Jerry takes the blame for not having a better player than Weeden as the backup, but this idea that Cassel would have been better as the long option is about as dumb. Cassel is getting worse as time goes on, not better. He clearly doesn't have an NFL arm anymore and if not for the foolishness of Desean Jackson he would have two games in a row without an offensive TD. And not against defensive powerhouses, against the Bucs and the friggin' Deadskins. Both Jerry and Cassel are cooked. And by the way Jerry, you're not 1-7 without Romo just because of the backup QB. Not by a long shot.

We need to draft a young gun next year. I don't want cassel back as a cowboy. He stinks. I rather us go young then watch cassel continuously stink.

this is exactly why we will never get a real head coach. Jerry needs to let the coaching make this decision smh

Should of done it last year... Sure Brice Petty could suck too, but there's always a chance he might not. We chose Chaz Green instead.
