Go easy on the guy, he clearly doesn't know my history on this board, and others... he thinks I'm just puffing up my ego...

As a usual ally and sometimes sparring partner (only on politics) I know how the bear fights ...... and I would say that the skin fans are overmatched.

Skins give up a 5th in 08 or a 4th in 09, which either way, right now, is the equivilent to a 5th. A 5th rounder for a starting LG who is proven in the league. I don't see how that is so bad.

How many of Dallas's 5th round draft choices are still with the team? I may be wrong, but at first glance I count.....one. Pat Watkins, who ironically was so bad last season that he had to be replaced with a FREE AGENT.

Skins fans embrace the misguided notion that free agents and veterans are "sure things" where draft picks are a gamble. Almost as many free agents flop as do draft picks.

Atleast with a draft pick, you've got a young hungry guy, a cheap guy, who can be brought up in the system, a guy who sticks around for 4 to 6 years as opposed to a 1 or 2 year rental. On a whole, it's the approach of building through the draft, not the individual pick, that provides the benefit. Continuity, power in numbers, depth, etc.

ooooh, I've had plenty of history with you on this board silver. Most of the time the threads tend to derail when some more; I'll say vigorous, Commander fans decide to chime in.

We'll have plenty of time to talk before our teams meet each other towards the end of the season. Hopefully the games will mean something for both teams. The rivalry needs a little push.
