Frankly, I thought the curtain would only be used for non-football events. Why go with glass if you're just gonna cover it up?

Why have a retractable roof if your going to leave it closed in nice weather?

lol, this used to be a big joke for some pick up basketball games. One team would lose and say well the sun was in our eyes, or the wind dried my eyes out...

never thought I would actually see an NFL coach try to use it as an actual exuse. I hope he reads it in the paper tomorow and realizes how pathetic it sounds.

All things equal, I have to say getting wind in your eyes is freaking awful. I play basketball outdoors and when that happens, its just painful.

How is it any different from playing out doors and having to go into the sun?

We won so these clowns have to find something else to knock the Boys for.

Florio is Wrong. Aikman said Dallas has the option to bring the curtain down. If we wanted we could, but only at the start of the halfs.

Smith is a whiny prima donna. He picked that side of the field to defend and ended up making a dumb coaching mistake.
Florio didn't write it. One of his other bloggers, Michael David Smith did.

We tricked them. They showed up and saw the roof closed and assumed the sun wouldn't be a factor. My guess is if the roof had been opened, Mike Smith would be *****ing about his punt returners having to look up into the sun in the first half.

But piggybacking on biggems post, I think we should open the glass doors when they have the ball and close em when we have it. Let the wind screw up their passes and field goals.

They'd better open them at the same time.:laugh2:

When the mentioned that Smith was complaining about the sun through the glass...Atlanta scored on that drive...what's the issue? Put on some eye black and shut up.

What's your home field advantage Atlanta?

hmmm I did not know every stadium in the league was all indoors, now Jerry comes along builds a domed stadium that allows sunlight to come inside.

1.2 billion dollar stadium and he did not consider that sunlight might makes it way through the open endzones and roof????

FAIL

I'll tell you what I was wrong about the video board thing saying it should be moved now im glad they didnt move it . Because the only reason there complaining about the sun issue is a ball has NOT hit the board in a few games. What's next and when will it end if you cave in?

I guess the bigger picture is as a society we have just become so negative (yup me too.. but when it was "cool" to be negative back in the day ..lol) , Everything sucks or is the worst ever. That we are now trained to alway's look for what's wrong or what's missing , yeah they won... but...BS. then we shout , cry, and complain first and then don't bother to ask questions and ***-ume away .until the next topic .. . Trust me giants -jets open a new stadium next year and im sure all we will hear about is what's wrong with it or how much this or that costs . Meanwhile i can tell you now what's wrong with it before it's even done.. There no retractable roof . No roof so super bowl's for the city of NY which is sad because NY would be a awesome city to host super bowl week ..to me it's a embarrsement way worse than any of these "issues" that the new cowboys stadium has had by far... sorry for the rant ..later

lol what?

The sunlight and glass is what it makes it different from almost every stadium.

The fact that mike smith complained about the sun is beyond sorry. If they go to green bay will he complain its cold? If he is in miami is he going to complain about the humidity.

People should be ripping mike smith for being such a whiny baby for no reason, but of course somehow the glass in the building and jerry will get ripped..

amazing.

Isn't that what sunglasses and visors are for? I guess this means we'll be getting lots of sun shots during games, like the zoom-back during every punt to see if the ball would hit the video board (nope).

That'd be BS and I hope it never happens.

:laugh2: Another butt hurt coach of an opposing team that has a beef with the stadium. The curse of Jerry may be on Smith now, like Fisher. The Falcons may not win another game this year.

Doesn't Smith know he's just begging to now lose six in a row, get half a hundred hung on him, and start wearing a Drew Brees jersey at speaking engagements so he can feel like a winner?

I'm pretty sure Fisher did that for some charity event. Hard to knock him for that.

That sun is pretty annoying when it shines into the cameras.

The roof was closed because there was the chance of inclement weather later in the game. It didn't end up happening, but there was a pretty big chance. Being in Texas and having friends in Arlington, I can tell you there's been some showers popping up the last few days.

I personally think he should have been more concerned with the Cowboys foot in his teams *** than the sun in his teams face
