The roof was closed because there was the chance of inclement weather later in the game. It didn't end up happening, but there was a pretty big chance. Being in Texas and having friends in Arlington, I can tell you there's been some showers popping up the last few days.

we did have storms roll through...but it was about 9:30

*BOO-FRICKIN-HOO*

Funny how the sun didn't seem to effect the Cowboys in the 4th quarter on the 10 plays leading up to the Nick Folk FG, OR didn't seem to effect Patrick Crayton on his 73 yard punt return, OR didn't seem to effect the 7 plays leading up to the last Nick Folk FG.

But I'm sure the media will make plenty of it

BTW:
3 games @ Dallas; 28 punts so far and 0 have hit the video board.

I'm sure glad Mike Smith isn't on the competition committee along with Jeff Fisher, ole' Jerry would be building a new stadium.

That sun is pretty annoying when it shines into the cameras.
I think it looks pretty awesome. Just another thing making our stadium more distinct.

I thought the engineers were supposed to have models and simulations that predicted this sort of thing?

I know right?...u would think that these highly trained professional engineers that Jerry hired would know that the sun was in the sky and rises in the sky the same place everyday....Jerry probably just hired that Co because they would be puppets and let him call the shots......[/sarcasm]

of course they knew...thats why they have shades that they can drop over the windows......they chose not lower them ....i call it HFA......

The windows were designed to let the sun in. Why would anyone cover them up to keep it out?

Yes, engineers tested it on models and experimented, but it was because they wanted to let the sun stream through, no the opposite.

What a novel concept... playing football in the sun.

If my team was getting their arse kicked up and down the field, I think I would be over on the sideline making adjustments instead of crying to the refs about the sun.

I bet the refs were laughing their arses off, "the sun, really coach, the sun???"

:laugh2: Football in the sun. What a novel concept? Players are not vampires. Yes, I'm sure the stadium was designed for this. I personally enjoyed the way the stream of sunlight looked in the stadium.

...and yes, the engineers did predict this sort of thing...hence the curtains.

Wasnt the sun at its worst in the 3rd qtr when they actually had a decent scoring drive??

This is like Jerry being able to turn the sun off and on at will.

I again have underestimated the power of Jerrah.

it's largely a non-issue, since our players had to play into the sun as well.

Ok, that's hilarious. He hears Aikman make a comment about the windows, and immediately posts it as if he's "reporting" on a real "controversy".

Yep, typical Mike Florio stuff. His reporting is beyond the point of fraudulent. He has a Mendoza-line accuracy as well. Wonder how Roy Williams' broke collarbone is doing? And is Terry Bradshaw dead, yet?

Lastly, how is punts hitting the videoboard a controversy when no punts have hit the videoboard?

Shhhh...letting facts getting in the way of a good story isn't allowed.

I can't wait until I hear the reporter say that Dallas has fixed the sun to only blind the opposing team.

Well, it is God's favorite team :)

Just use Steve Phillips' fat girlfriend to block out the sun.

Yes, but that would drastically drop the attendance figures.
