The main factors for Payton are, per Jackson: (1) warm weather; (2) a roster that can contend; and (3) control over personnel decisions.

I wonder how number 3 will pan out, Jerry likes to be in the coaching mix. Jimmy shut him out almost completely and we see what happened there, not sure Jerry will let it go as far as Jimmy took it, maybe if SP can play Jerry Politics and still get what he needs to win it might work, seems like Jimmy could have done a better job at that though with his Psychology mind set. Oh well lets see how big Mike does this year first. :flagwave:

Don’t agree on Dan Quinn. All his teams did in Atlanta while he was head coach was cough up big leads. He’s a better DC than an HC.
Did they cough up big leads because he was head coach? How much of that does he deserve the blame for? He has the hunger it takes.

Payton is coming here. Whether y’all like it or not. Doesn’t matter.

He’s better suited concentrating on the defense. He’s a better DC than he is an HC and that’s been proven. Jerry will likely hand him the job if he moves on from McCarthy but it’s never worked promoting a coordinator to HC with the Cowboys. He promoted Campo to HC and he promoted Garrett and they both failed. Quinn would end up being just another puppet and probably wouldn’t last any longer than McCarthy. Some coordinators are just not cut out to be head coaches. Quinn is really good when his focus is on the defense.

How has it been proven? He's had one head coaching gig and he got them to the SB lol. A team that wasn't that great to begin with.

Would love to have him but we simply can't afford the draft compensation the Saints will require
No better than McC and with the same kind of players.
One cheats one way (bounties and whatnot) and the other cheats another way (tries to train the OL to hold without holding).
Both are the same tier and the obsession over Payton is stupid and will further vilify Jerry when Sean wins nothing too.

Because they are both the same caliber of coach.

It’s been proven by the fact he coached six years in Atlanta and only had two winning seasons. He got Atlanta to a Super Bowl and they proceeded to cough up a 25 point lead in the second half. It was downhill from there with Quinn. His team blew a 20 point lead against us two years ago. He was only one game over 500 in six seasons and was 0-5 when he got fired. If Jerry hires Quinn as the HC I’ll be almost as angry as the day he hired Wade Phillips. Another coach who was a real good DC but a crappy HC.
