Payton's contract is through 2024 with the Saints (I think, could be wrong) so if he's going to coach again, 2024 seems more likely unless a team wants to trade draft compensation for him in 2023.
If it is through 2024, they would still have to compensate the Saints. Just what any team needs, a HC that wants to pick the players and no 1st round picks.

Are you talking about Connor Payton (Sean's son)? That has to be who you're referring to. I would assume you are too intelligent to think it could be Sean.... But who am I to assume...
Ha ha , man that was so funny. You are hilarious

It’s been proven by the fact he coached six years in Atlanta and only had two winning seasons. He got Atlanta to a Super Bowl and they proceeded to cough up a 25 point lead in the second half. It was downhill from there with Quinn. His team blew a 20 point lead against us two years ago. He was only one game over 500 in six seasons and was 0-5 when he got fired. If Jerry hires Quinn as the HC I’ll be almost as angry as the day he hired Wade Phillips. Another coach who was a real good DC but a crappy HC.
I’m don’t necessarily disagree with you, but Belicheck and Pete Carroll both failed in their first head coaching stints and they found a lot of success.

Neither had a viable QB during their first head coaching stints. Dan Quinn inherited Matt Ryan who became a league MVP.

I used the wrong year then, should be 2025. I was thinking he would be free in 2024 but I think he's still under contract. My point is to wait until he is no longer under contract.

I would very much prefer not reaching a Super Bowl if we were going to blow a 25 point second half. There’s nothing that’s ever happened in the history of this franchise that would tear up the fans more than to see the Cowboys blow a 25 point second half lead in a Super Bowl. Not even the Jackie Smith drop in the Super Bowl or the Dwight Clark catch in the 81 NFC title game combined would devastate the fan base like seeing the Cowboys blow a huge second half Super Bowl lead. I would totally disown the Cowboys if they ever had that happen to them. That would be beyond embarrassing!
You’d rather not go to the Super Bowl than to go and lose a 25 point lead? I can’t fathom it. I’ve seen enough first round exits in my life time….it’s the NFL….the NFL is made for leads to be given up…..

I experienced both Cowboys losses to the Steelers in the Super Bowl and it’s incredibly painful to see your team lose a Super Bowl. I couldn’t even imagine the horror it would be to see the Cowboys blow a 25 point second-half lead in a Super Bowl. That would torment the fan base for decades! Imagine having to live with those highlights over the years? You probably never saw the Cowboys play in a Super Bowl so you’ll gladly take them blowing a 25 point second-half lead just to see them play in a Super Bowl. Not me! There’s no loss more agonizing than a Super Bowl loss. I can’t even fathom what Falcons fans must go through looking back at that second half Super Bowl debacle.

I’m over blowing a 25 point second-half meltdown in the Super Bowl? Lol No team in the history of the Super Bowl ever blew a lead like that. I’ve seen plenty reference that game. I promise you if the Cowboys ever suffered a debacle like that in a Super Bowl it would be referenced a lot on this board. The Jackie Smith drop in Super Bowl 13 still tears fans up.

Reports also link a bear with being Catholic and the Pope pooping in the woods. :lmao: Let's stop paying so much attention to these fake news reports.

Nobody references SB 13 either....I think these are personal issues you personally can't get over.

No one references Super Bowl 13? Lol That Super Bowl loss along with the other one to the Steelers has been dissected many times, especially on this board. This is just a small example. Just made yourself look silly. Lol
