it makes alot of sense, you see some guys celebrating useless plays, it's like, "f you, we're losing, but I'm a South Park Mexican! BLAH!"

Reminds me of the Paul Pierce thing in the playoffs which basically resulted in no action of consequence by the league

I don't know, I just think he was pulling a loose hair off of his head...:

I dont know but I think i read or heard somewhere that he was doing that for Detroit to indicate they were next.

Highly unlikely...Nevermind that they were about to only be up 2-1 in that series, it was also coupled with other excuses like '3pt' sign or some other nonsense.

It was spin

Call me naive, but how common can gang members be in professional sports really?

Seems like you would pick one or the other, not easy to be out bangin when you got two-a-days and normal practices, games etc etc etc. I was pretty freakin busy with sports.

Yeah man I feel you. If a pro player was still in a gang and still highly affilated with on, dont u think it would have been picked up at

1. High School level
2. College level
3. by the team scouting, personal and security departments.

Well, there is the possibility of someone being in one growing up, slowly moving up to the pros and taking a moment to celebrate and "show a little luv" to his old set.

you mean in a "sport" where two teams dress up in their "Colors" and have their own "sign" and hit a field to beat the hell out of each other is looking for a gang sign?

how ironic.

And you think this is common enough that they need people on the payroll?

And lets be honest, I wouldn't know a gang sign from a street sign, how many other people would? The gang bangers? So now the NFL is waging war with gang bangers egos? This whole thing is dumb.

Waste of resources.

sssh i can get a job for something like that

Well I honestly do not see anything wrong with that, as long as he/she is still not in the gang. There is nothing wrong with showing alittle luv to were you are from. BEsides being were they are from is what drove most atheletes to be were they are now.

I kind of like S.Jackson's tattoo of praying hands holding a gun. I think the stained glass and cross in the background adds a touch of class.

The NFL isn't going to spend money if they didn't think it's a problem.

Understand that set = gang, so showing love to your old gang banger pals shouldn't be okay. Little kids watch them and think it's okay to do something like that.

It amazes me it has taken this long to crack down on this. This has been going on for years and they just now address it? Maybe I'm just a traditionalist, but play the game, be a man, and leave that crap out of it.

I guess I'm in the minority judging by some of the comments here, and apparently many of you wouldn't have a problem with a group of kindergarteners flashing a gang sign because they saw their favorite player/role model do so on national TV.

As far as a sign having a different meaning...it's pretty darn simple. You tell the players 'Do these signs, get fined. You want to say hello to your peeps back home, come up with another way...in fact...we're pretty sure you can all afford cellphones to go with those inexpensive vehicles you're driving around nowadays. You're here to play football...leave it at that."

The league has officials watching all the games looking for any fineable offenses. There was a story on that last season. So they won't be doing anything that haven't already been doing for a long time.
