PFT: Ominous Development in looming CBA battle

I like the salary cap. I know that without it Jerry would go nuts and pay for player after player but at the same time the quality of football would go down for teams because of the teams that wouldn't do that.

You would seriously have teams full of nobodies playing against pro bowl teams. It would be fun to watch for a game or two but would suck after that.

I would love an uncapped NFL, the Boyz would be loaded with probowlers at every freaking postion. Our backups would probably starters signed from other teams!!!

Who cares about the other teams, I would love to watch Dallas beat up everybody 45-0 every week.:)

The salary cap is crap, owners should pay whatever they want for a player, owners shouldnt have to share revenues, and professional athletes in general make too much money.Guys working on cures for cancer dont make what they make.

Hmm.

If the owners of the teams in the 60s and 70s thought this way there wouldnt be an nfl. Owners should absolutely share revenues and they should absolutely help each other stay in business at all costs, as they always have.

The average NFL salary is $1.1M The average American's salary is $48,000 (based on 2006 numbers). Thats about 1/23 the amount of the average NFL players salary.

The only people that should be complaining are the fans. Of course, since we are die-hard fans, they tell us what we want and we take it. No matter the price.

Times your current salary by 23. Would you be happy?

people won't pay to watch those average people do their job, just like no one ever paid to watch a cancer researcher look at a test tub

as an aside, why do fans always complain about what athletes make but we never seem to complain about what actors make?

Im sorry but that isn't a legit reason why they should get paid a ton.

The fact the tv networks pay that much to show them working, the fans pay a ton to wear the jerseys, tshirts, hats, for tickets, those are more than ample legit reaons for them to be paid a ton

You couldn't do my job, yet you're dogging someone else?

BTW, your username is humorous.:D

Sorry, not trying to dog anyone....just pointing out that NFL jobs require a specific skill set that's more difficult to find then the average Joe's background....and maybe I could do your job...

The problem right now is that about 4-6 of the Owners (Bidwell, Benson, etc) want more money out of the guys like Jerrah and Danny Boy who work real hard at making extra money while those others sit on their fat butts and do very little. And that are about another 4-6 owners that don't like the way Jerrah and a couple of others pretty much run things. Put those two groups together and you have enough to upset the apple cart. Not to mention that I bet Jerrah and the other reallyhard working owners are sick and tired of dragging around all that dead weight.

it's the owners who are paying them, so who cares.....

The owners want to pay them the money so let the owners pay.... I know the players get paid alot of money but so do the owners, how else could they afford to pay their employees

You should think long and hard about how the owners get the money to pay for them?;)

They do if they find the cure.
