PFT: Pickens wants to remain in Dallas but says his value has increased

Do you know who his agent is by chance?

LOL.
Yep ....but that still doesn't change his three options mentioned in the post.

As stated many times.....he ain't going nowhere, at least not 2026. No way in hell is Jerry getting rid of a player with this kind of popularity. Not to mention the trade is making him look like a legit GM.

BTW.....did you see where Lamb said he didn't care if Pickens makes more than him? Personally, I would NOT give him Lamb money ........not yet. Run back another year, like 2025, and we can talk, otherwise, play on the tag or accept my offer $30M

He will show the same degree of commitment to the Cowboys as they show to him. Nothing more. He just played fours years at a discount. Now he wants what he thinks is deserved. The team that pays it is the team that gets his best efforts.
Not sure why fans overlook the fact that these players are accountable to their teammates to do their job or risk being called out. If you believe some fans, he's going to sign his contract and lose any compassion for playing. I don't see that at all.........

A lot of them do.

I believe you are correct. Right after his agent gets him “the bag” he’ll tell him to get to work on earning a bigger one in the future.

A lot of people who bring that up hate players getting paid in the first place so they have to create some kind of "moral failing" to bring them down a notch. Can't get too uppity making all that money. This is how the "contract year" fallacy came to be. People needed it to be true.

When he's involved in the gameplan he's better than Lamb. Problem with GP is he checks out mentally when he's not a focus in the game. Then you start seeing the lackadaisical routes and effort.

Oh i never said it did.

I am just saying be prepared, David is going to get his pound of flesh because our GM doesnt know how to conduct himself.

Also, I dont know that I would want to pay him. He screams issues after contract.

I mean, you ask any player about his priorities .........most, if not all, will say family and teammates. Players doggin' it or giving half a____ effort have to face their locker room. That kind of crap compromises the integrity of your contract .........( as Diggs, who is now w/o a team and will struggle to get a valuable contract )

Agree, but one game he checked out I think. Schotty even talked to him about that one, but for 14-16 games, he balled. No idea what happened in that game, it was bad ........if you are giving me 14-16 at All Pro level....we good.

BTW......I agree 100%, he has a chance to def be better than Lamb. I mentioned this in another thread that he gives me Dez and Michael Irvin, dawg vibes coz he sees every pass as his and wanna score with every catch.

Higgins was given the non exclusive franchise tag twice. That gave his agent ample time to get a feel for what his actual value was around the league.
That value was clearly that of a #2!
The point is, he chose to stay when he could have left, and now he’s still the 8th highest-paid receiver in the league. That’s not exactly disrespect. The problem is this idea that players deserve a blank check and should squeeze the owners every time, despite there being a salary cap. Somehow, staying here for $30 million is seen as a slap in the face, but that’s still a huge amount of money. Some players, like Tee Higgins, Jaylen Waddle, and DeVonta Smith, are good enough to start elsewhere—there are plenty of teams without a clear #1 receiver, like the Cowboys in 2018 before they traded a first-round pick for Amari Cooper and paid him $22 million. Players like Higgins could get paid well somewhere else, but some choose to stay and share the spotlight for a little less. Brandon Aiyuk makes similar money and was meant to be a starter—overpaying is always a risk. If George Pickens wants to leave for $4–5 million more a year, that’s his choice, but acting like $30 million here is an insult is exactly what’s wrong with the league. Being top 7 in pay at your position is still being valued—does he really need more, or to play games like Parsons, pretending to want to stay while angling for more?

Clearly, understand fans do not trust him........which is why I'm on the fence. Not ready to serious committ long-term money but no way I am letting him leave either, he's too good. He serves to be rewarded $28M but IF can't be patient and wait another year w/o pis____ing and hollowering for a his long-term deal, then I know what I have to do.

I would prefer to keep him here, even if it’s more than many are comfortable with, but answer me this….

If they didn’t trade for him, would they even CONSIDER looking at bringing him in?

Probably not. I just don’t get the logic sometimes (actually most of the time).

Oh he’s gone… also Micah can kick rocks trying to recruit him. Screw that guy. Enjoy the trainers table, Micah.

"Jerry is going to have to open that pocketbook if he wants me to stay. Defense doesn't matter. It's been 30 years, and 30 more don't matter. Just think of all the jerseys you can sell. Go me."
