George Pickens wants to remain in Dallas but says his value has increased

The sooner Jerry gets this done, the better. There was no reason they had to wait until the end of the season to do this. Now that the cap has increased by 7%, he’s going to want more.

Jerry is foolish to wait this out and tag him. Get it done now and worry about building the other parts of the team, especially the defense.

Which means we have more to spend we have the power lol

Why can’t we tag and trade him? We can get a first round pick and he gets paid by someone else. Win-win.
Because his agent, not a Jerry Jones favorite, would exert a tremendous degree of control of any trade. No team is giving up anything for him without a deal in place. That requires negotiation with Pickens’ agent. No way Jerry sits on the sideline and watches and waits for David Mulugheta to inform him of the deal he’s worked out and with whom. And they will sit on an unsigned tag, which means he cannot be traded, and only sign it when he’s forced to, too late to be traded or sign a deal with the Cowboys. (July 15) The worst case scenario for them is $28 million for one season and he’s a free agent again.

For the Cowboys, they tie up $28 million against the 2026 tag possibly through mid-July hamstringing efforts to improve the roster. The “tag and trade” scenario benefits Pickens…and by extension his agent.

Someone has to want him
I’m sure some won’t want to take a chance on him but I’m also sure there are some of teams that would be willing to. I know it’s a pipe dream but tagging and trading him to the Raiders for Max would be great.

I disagree but not about Mulugheta Most players hate playing on a one year deal and I would think Pickens would push for a long term one. And from how he’s talking at the pro bowl, he wants that bag and he wants it now.
