News: PFT: Report: Cowboys getting calls about Darren McFadden

Problem is he's missed all of training camp and preseason he hasn't done anything since mid June. He's likely to end up with some soft tissue injury like a hamstring when he returns.

Yeah, that's a pretty good bet.

They'd probably only get a 6th or 7th rounder so I don't know about this.

I think a stable of Morris,Dmac and Zeke would be a seriously feared backfield.

What kicks my head in,is last year the media and such were just drooling over the Eagles RBs.This year I hear very few mediatards saying anything about ours.

Given the position, I think a few weeks might increase McFadden's trade value. Anyone sure of the NFI rules? Can they activate him whenever they want, or us there a waiting period like PUP?
NFI is effective PUP where the injury has occured during something that is not an NFL regulated activity. He's elligiblie to be activated after week 6. It's the Cowboys decision whether or not to pay him before activation because of the fact that his injury was suffered in a non NFL activity. That's my understanding.

I'd guess its not much different then thought about with or without McFadden. No one fears inactive players.

True, but McFadden's injury is not season ending.

Dmac is a fantastic pass catcher and could be a great third down back for us going forward.

Ok, so it also carries that '6 weeks' designation. I wasn't sure about that, thanks!

He is an ageing vet that has never really produced. What he brings to the Cowboys can be replaced by younger and cheaper options like Jackson

Do you know why he was "4th in yards among RB's last year"? Hint, it wasn't because of the 'talents' that had him averaging less than 3.4 yards per attempt for the 3 years prior.

Oh I get it...
When McFadden plays poorly it's his fault.
When McFadden plays well then it's the offensive line that gets credit.
Sounds like he can't win with your logic.

I mean I like the guy, but it's pretty easy to take a and b and come up with c

In Oakland the other bums were putting up respectable clips.

Also to be fair, he was "4th in yards" because half the top runners got injured, were in a time share or benched lol.

Shady, Demarco, Foster, bell, hill, forte, Lacy, etc etc

I don't even like McFadden as our RB. He seems like a good guy and I want him to do well...
He will be the third back where he belongs on a team with Zeke and Morris.

Hey maybe everyone's pet cat Darius Jackson will stop running up the backs of his linemen tonight and show us that 40 time he posted that got him drafted.

Jackson hasn't proven to be reliable in a regular season game yet (much less preseason). Until then.

Jackson (preseason) - 31/120 yds (3.9 avg)
MCFadden 2016 Preseason 0/0 (0.0 avg) and one broken elbow. I guess since Zeke hasn't proven anything in a regular season game he shouldn't be on the roster also. yes Jacksons stats do not pop but he is running mostly with 2s, 3s, and camp bodies.

well that idea totally discounts his performance last year and why people would be calling him.

yes we went young stud at rb. that takes nothing away from what mcfadden did last year and could still do in spot duty this year.

and who the hell is this jackson kid paying to get such love for someone who's yet to play a down in the NFL?

Jackson has decent games playing with a shoddy group of lineman. And unlike DMC who seems to go down when someone slams a door in the stadium, he actually runs hard.
