How many rumors ever come to realization with the Cowboys?
Only the ones we don't want to happen.

MM was hired for.......his post-season experience (Stephen's words ). Hell Garrett's ceiling was a winning season and MAYBE a playoff appearance.
I can see this scenario where Jerry thinks like this.Just me, but I do think Jerry will favor a new offensive scheme for Dak. Reason: we have one more year to decide whether to lock him in for another 3-5 years ( likely close to $50M ). So you have to ask, has Dak peaked, or is it KM and we can see Dak's game take another level under Payton or a different offensive scheme ( west coast ???? )
Denver will be his landing spot.
They almost fired him last year. You are here every day. Get a clue.If Dallas goes 12-5 again I couldn’t fathom Jerry fires McCarthy. Due to what? Negligence? Failure as a coach? No way

I can see it, but I can also see him back. McCarthy was brought in to win in the post season. Another 1 and done and I could easily see him getting fired if Payton will comeIf Dallas goes 12-5 again I couldn’t fathom Jerry fires McCarthy. Due to what? Negligence? Failure as a coach? No way
Yes, good one.Maybe the LAC?
I don’t know what he brings to the table that Mike doesn’t, based purely off track record. I do think he’s a better and more creative playcaller than Mike however, and we could use that.
I think Payton goes to LAC, though. Any coach would love to have a guy like Herbert to build their team around.
So Fangio will go back to his old job?Denver will be his landing spot.

Rumors fly of Sean Payton to Dallas, if Cowboys falter down the stretch

The rumors come at a time when ESPN.com is reporting that Payton is “already putting together an all-star staff,” with former Broncos coach Vic Fangio as the potential defensive coordinator. That’s really not a surprise, however. Payton has said he will be coaching sooner than later, and that he’ll be returning in 2023 or 2024. It would be ridiculously foolish for him not to have a staff ready to go; if he doesn’t, he’d have to slap something together on the fly, if an opportunity emerges to coach in 2023
