For those with sugar plumbs shaped like Peyton dancing in the heads, how does Jerry lure him and not give him full roster control?

So if the giants and Seahawks were to lose. Big if with the giants up… do we automatically clinch the 5 seed? I think we do correct?

Heard also he wants to stay in LA and coach the Chargers or Rams. Also read where the team that gets him will owe the Saints draft compensation since he still under contract with them.

He’s from Dallas…. Jerry is getting older he’ll give him the keys to win one more title. I say good. Anything less than an nfc title game from the current regime and bye bye

100% guarantee MM is back no matter how the season ends.
Agreed…even if Jerry wants him gone, what coach worth his salt would agree to come to the Cowboys and having to put up with the Jones’ perpetual meddling in team/personnel issues?
Sadly, until the FO stops that practice, the only coaches the Cowboys will attract will be retreads like MM.

Payton will have better options. All Jerry has to offer is money. There are teams out there with better potential and better ownership.

You do realize that Sean Payton lives in the Dallas area and already has built a home here.

Rumors fly of Sean Payton to Dallas, if Cowboys falter down the stretch
Posted by Mike Florio on December 24, 2022, 11:28 AM EST

The rumors come at a time when ESPN.com is reporting that Payton is “already putting together an all-star staff,” with former Broncos coach Vic Fangio as the potential defensive coordinator. That’s really not a surprise, however. Payton has said he will be coaching sooner than later, and that he’ll be returning in 2023 or 2024. It would be ridiculously foolish for him not to have a staff ready to go; if he doesn’t, he’d have to slap something together on the fly, if an opportunity emerges to coach in 2023
The only reason Payton will come to our CIRCUS is for a last massive guaranteed paycheck!
Only YES men need to apply!!!!o_O

If Dallas goes 12-5 again I couldn’t fathom Jerry fires McCarthy. Due to what? Negligence? Failure as a coach? No way

I don't think the regular-season record matters as much as playoff success. He's got to win at least one playoff game IMO.

Will he bring Drew Brees with him?

MM will be back unless we lose out out and then lose to Tampa that’s the only way imo

If MM doesn't win at least one playoff game I expect JJ to make a move. Win one playoff game and I think he will keep MM

McCarthy has been a much more consistent NFL head coach than Sean Payton. The back half of Payton’s career in NO was basically what Jason Garrett did here. A bunch of .500ish seasons with a few good years in between. The grass isn’t always greener.

Just me, but I do think Jerry will favor a new offensive scheme for Dak. Reason: we have one more year to decide whether to lock him in for another 3-5 years ( likely close to $50M ). So you have to ask, has Dak peaked, or is it KM and we can see Dak's game take another level under Payton or a different offensive scheme ( west coast ???? )
Makes sense

Payton is his own man, Jerry likes weak men who he can boss around to be the head coach. He won't hire him.

Might be true but Payton has a close relationship with both Jerry and Stephen so don't bet against it
