There is no question .. if the Steelers fire Tomlin, McCarthy would definitely take that job regardless of what Jerry offered.
Reality I usually agree with everything you say, i'm trusting that this is true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. There's also no question Tomlin would be a big upgrade here. Unfortunately he wouldn't take a minimum type contract and he won't be considered because he does not strike me as a potential puppet.
truth!!

He's never seen this kind of pressure for his job. Maybe it's time for both, he and the Steelers to part ways.
FYI....there were a couple of nuggets out there last week suggesting McCarthy would be the perfect replacement .........Pitt being his hometown

Lmao worst season in coaching history..........I hate fans sometimes!

It’s a moot point because it won’t happen and I’m fine with that but I’d disagree there. tomlin hasn’t had a quarterback since Ben retired (I know I know dak sucks), him in a new setting I think he’d still show he’s a top 6-7 coach in the league and may be able to hit buttons McCarthy can’t - particularly with discipline

That said McCarthy will be back and I don’t think tomlin is let go, nor do I think Jerry would hire him or tomlin would have interest

Players do play hard for him but that team is riddled with self inflicted mistakes just like Dallas. The biggest obstacle though is Jerry and tomlin could never fully install his system here

Oh, the irony of reading that comment on a Cowboys fan site.
Lol. Touche'.

Cowboy fans are entitled but not nearly as insular as steeler fans from my experience. Steeler fans act in a closed group frequently whereas Cowboy fans constantly have everyone in the world reminding them how much they suck.

Check this out .........
BTW ...the statement of being nobody. That's what the kid said to Myles Garrett before asking if he could have his jersey after the game.

Man Myles sure knows how to make you love him even more then you already do.....man.....part of me wishes he was here but then he deserves to be on a team trying to win.....but then there's Cleveland.....damn.

I think the only difference is some of us are delusional so it balances it a bit.

I think if Jerry could get a coach that guaranteed a winning record out of a mediocre roster with minimal FA spending he’d sign up for it for the rest of his life. Tomlin sounds like the perfect Jerry hire aside from him actually having a spine

This is true but as John Madden once said... head coaching the same ten for 10 years is long enough.
Regardless of where blame or failure truly lies, this is the over arching truth. 10-12 years is a long run even if being very successful. Both sides need to be rejuvenated by a change of scenery.

Doesn't mean they will find a better coach .... but it's time to try.

He was borderline great but that was a long time ago. Just like McCarthy, it's probably time for him to step away.
Well I mean he wore out his welcome there. Its been a long time. He's done all he could do....and btw, that team wasn't very good and shouldn't have even been in the playoffs but Tomlin once again got a diamond out of trash.

McCarthy and Tomlin can still offer something to NFL teams. Just not to the respective teams they are with.

A lot of these "McVey" guys or "Shanahan" guys...they flame out and go right back to doing what they were doing. Compare their resumes to Tomlin and McCarthy and it will pale.
