There are actually many good reasons to trade Micah. First of all, his new contract stacked upon Daks and CD's will cripple the teams ability to not only sign free agents but keep many of our own best player as their contracts expire. Second, Micah has become a media personality spouting off on his podcast and it's only going to become a bigger distraction as he uses it to levy criticisms. Third, we could get a cache' of draft picks which is this teams primary mode of building. We have had Micah for 3 seasons and haven't had any playoff success. He tends to pile up his sacks in games like the meaningless Washington game week 17.

I don't think paying him gives the team a chance to improve on the scale its needs to improve. That's said, we will sign him. It's what we do.
The only reason you trade anyone is because you get more in return. I am not against trading Micah, IF the plan is to rebuild from scratch and you can get a significant haul of draft picks for him. It would take at least 2 first round picks and probably 2 second round picks as well, for me to trade Micah. And I would want to be fairly certain the picks would be in the top half of the draft. I would have traded CeeDee before I would trade Micah.

I would entertain any offers for trades, for any player on the team. But let's not pretend that even getting a haul of draft picks changes anything. Draft picks are not guarantees. Even 1st round picks are 50-50.

I also do not believe that because they shoved so much money at Dak, that's a good reason trade Micah. If Dak's contract is the problem, then plan on ridding the team of Dak's contract.

Let's just hope Eberflus pushes on Micah's behalf that he needs him on-board early to be successful w/the new defensive scheme. However, if Eberflus doesn't feel he fits it, then I could definitely see a move for a trade but highly doubt it since Jerry wants to continue claiming success (one of the very few he can claim lately) in drafting him in the first place.

or, or ....or we switch to 3-4, which I have been saying for 2 years now. Osa and Kneeland are perfect as 3-4 DEs. and NTs aren't as expensive as passrushing, pocket collapsing DTs in a 4-3
Then allow parsons to rush from standup position on the line.
That would be great but our new DC is a Marinelli bend but dont break predictable passive 4-3 guy

Micah will be totally wasted here and certainly not worth his 34 million price tag

Then what is he V? DE, LBer, Edge? Some will say ALL three......
Our DC is a 4-3 guy who lines and expects players to beat the opposing player. No attempt to hide the defense, very little blitzing

Micah will have a predictable DE position and the opposing team will be able to run right at him or block him with 2 players

This is the absolute worst defense for Micah
Should have gone with a 3-4 DC
Just trade him already

Jeez, how many interviews does he give? It seems like he has quotes every day now. It is just crazy to think after years of hearing the grief Jerry gets from doing all these interviews, to see Stephen do more and more. They are both addicted to their own voice. Sad.

I look forward to when Jerry is gone and it is all Stephen. Jerry has a way of saying nothing and very rarely got defensive. I feel Stephen is going to crack and won't be able to get out of these messes.

Here is what we know........no way in hell Parsons will play the 2025 season under the current deal w/o a fight. The sooner Stephen Jones handles this ( only two options ...sign or trade ) the better.

Stephen Jones on Micah Parsons’ contract: Obviously, he is an important part of what we’re about

Is that based off of your own personal assumptions or do you have proof of this theory

No guarantees. That's why you don't pay one guy 200M unless he's Patrick Mahomes. You need a deep, balanced roster of talent b/c injuries happen.

We can't rid the team of Daks contract. Its guaranteed. If he doesn't win, we are as screwed as the Browns with Deshean Watson. You just can't move on from a contract like that and they've wasted the entire career of Myles Garret in the meantime. We could be in a similar position with Dak if he's not better that what he showed the first 7 games last season going forward.

I think Cowboys need to get a deal ASAP, the cost of the contract will only increase the longer it goes.

I think Micah brings too much attention to the Cowboys for Jerry to let him go. The one exception is if Jerry sees an opportunity to get (what he considers) a Walker like trade, that (he thinks) would make him look like a genius.
that what they should try for, and if they dont get it pay him.
Parsons was great the 1st year, but like elliot has gone downhill each year since, and I dont care about stats.

Watch the infamous GB game again and watch parsons each play, it is pathetic, no impact on game at all.
At times he was just mailing it in.

right now he isnt worth the 35-40 mil a year he wants, so I would wait and see how he does with the new coaches, and then decide if I want
to pay him or not.

Trade him but you have to replace him or at least his contribution to the D. Always running the risk with a trade of taking a big step backwards. I am in favor to signing him, working with him to get the most output possible on the field and working on his personal maturity. The latter is a challenge but it is the best choice IMO.

Why do I get the feeling these two dimwits are gonna botch the MP extension just like they do most of the big contracts.

They will act like they know what they’re doing in delaying the inevitable… and then get raked over the coals and pay thru the nose. And wouldn’t be shocked if it was a no trade either.

I've been saying this since he was drafted

Obvious to you and many others. So why don't the Jones' see this? I'm also surprised Micah is not complaining about this. Interestingly when he was drafted the very first interview he gave was with Ross Tucker and in that he sad the DEF was going to be a 3-4.

Also appointing Eberflus and his scheme will see an approach in free agency and the draft where smaller DT's are taken with high motors and also you big heavy 275LB Edge players favoured, when with a 3-4 you need those tall flexible bendy players at OLB.

So those who argue we are in nickle 75% of the time so whether you are a 3-4 or 4-3 is irrelevant are mistaken as it compromises your draft and free agency.

No he won't. Don't think for a second Jerry isn't going to capitalize on those jersey sales.
I keep hearing about jersey sales, but isn't that split evenly amongst all teams? I remember reading an article where Jerry was complaining that the Cowboys accounted for 33% of all jersey sales while the Bengals only generated 3%, but both teams got the same share.

Plus, by signing late, Jerry has a reason as why he didnt spend in free agency (I had to keep the CAP in case Micah played on existing contract, rather than the reduced 1st year of a contract extension). This is why Micah asked for the contract to be sorted sooner rather than later.
