PFT: Stephen says Dak will be a Cowboy for many many years to come

This IMO should kill any talk of Dak NOT getting his extension for at least 3-5 more years. Trust me, Stephen already has a good idea of what Dak's price tag will be, yet it didn't stop him from making the statement.

Stephen Jones: Dak Prescott will be here “for many, many years to come”

You would think.

But even if they gave him a contract for ten years, no trade, a contractual agreement to not draft any QBs or sign anyone as a QB free agent without the team and the signee agreeing they would never play a down unless there was an injury…

People would still debate every day about Dak.

How many times did he say this about Romo?
Lance would have to do like Prescott did and step in and not give the job back. Romo didn't retire because Dallas didn't want him, Romo retired because his health gave out and another player stepped in and made the team ready and able to move on.

The last laugh is the only one that matters.

I just hope you stay off the bench long enough when the time comes.
I've laughed at you the last 3 offseasons for how hilariously wrong you were about Dak.

I like my chances at going 4 for 4.

You have no clue what you're watching on Sundays.

"Only 259 yards in 7 drives!?!?"

For the record to the Trolls, he resigned Romo every time he said he would.

This notion the Cowboys need more success than they’ve had in recent years the Trolls certainly haven’t been paying attention.

Our idiotic owners continue telling us but Trolls refuse to listen.

You can have 3 seasons or even 4, 5, or 6.

I'll have for as long as you post here after Dak's gone.

You'll have!?!? Oh no!!!

I bet you thought you had something really clever there. Then you forgot to type it out. Hmm.

Fitting outcome for the opposite of a winner. Better luck next time, Angus.

I honestly think your goal is to stay benched so you don't have to face the music when Dak fails.

There's no chance you show up ever again when Dak goes.

You go with Dakky poo.

For the sake of argument, let's say Stephen is on the level. and Dakota gets his "years to come" package. Do football geniuses Jerry and Stephen have a succession plan for him? And if so, what is it?

I have no idea what the plan for Dak is, but I do know it would be absolutely insane for an executive to come out at the beginning of a season and even hint the possibility that the veteran QB is on thin ice. Especially a season with such high expectations.

They’d like to think they just acquired him.

Not if he plays poorly in the playoffs and it’s a significant reason as to why the team loses.
Not sure why fans believe this? It goes against everything our idiotic owners have said. I understand these fans may want it to happen but why would Jethro let our QB who continues taking us to playoffs go?

Staying interesting and relevant is our owners priority. And like it or not Prescott delivers enough for Jethro to hype .
