If I had to put money on it, I'd go with Green Day, Kenny Chesney or Dave Matthews. They're all younger, hugely popular and inoffensive.

I'm not positive, but I think it has something to do with media consumption and is kind of a play on the phrase American Idol.

ZZ Top actually did play at a SB half time years ago. I think James Brown played too and later made a disparaging comment about sharing a stage with an act not on his stature.

The first Dallas SB needs a Texas band and there is none better than ZZ....IMO of course. :D
