How about some GNR? They are on tour right now in South America, maybe by the time they decide to tour the states for their 3rd Chinese Democracy tour it will be Super Bowl time.

I'll be as oblivious to who they choose as I've been to every other crap act they've paraded out at half time before.

As long as it's actual rock type music, I can turn down the volume and listen as background noise while I'm cooking dinner or whatever. But if it's like some girly crap, then I have to mute it.

I'd love to see Foo Fighters as well. Dave Grohl is awesome.

How about Van Halen? Rotate Dave and Sammy in and out on all the big songs each did. Dont know if a stadium could hold all those egos though. :)

William Hung.

If not him, maybe a combo of Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood. :)

I would definitely like to see more of the late 70's and 80's type rock. Although some of these older acts have their fans, many guys I see going to games aren't over 50ish. So some AC/DC, ZZTop, Metallica, Van Halen etc. would definitely be liked and as tolerable as halftime shows come.

I have loved the halftime shows. Springsteen, mcartney, u2 and tom petty have been absolutely great. Im not a big fan of the who, but I dont think they sounded bad.

and I dont think there is any doubt this years will be a country act, even though the cowboys do not seem to embrace the texas music scene right under there nose in the stadium.

But I have to imagine its some sort of country act.

I think it is a slap in the face to true football fans to put these teeny bopper acts as halftime shows. I loved the Who and the Stones. I would rather see a high school or college band that earned the halftime slot than pink or britney spears. I like the ZZ top idea or would like to see Pearl Jam or just a good rock n roll band.

I would actually be surprised. Petty is about as country as I could see them getting. Its a national audience and quite frankly the northeast and west coasts aren't big country fans.

Then again Faith Hill does MNF but that is not really country as much as pseudo-country pop nonsense. Its just too bad Johnny Cash passed on.

Mmmm, even though I am a big fan, ZZ Top can be hit or miss or live.

I have seen them perform fantastically, and I have seen them act like they could care less about being there, too.

How about a Texas blues all-star show, with Jimmy Vaughn, Johnny Winter, Billy G., Eric Johnson, Tommy Shannon, maybe Bobby Keys playing sax (and whomever else I can't think of right now from the Texas blues scene)?

ZZ Top would be an excellent choice! I'd also throw in Pink Floyd but probably not mainstream enough.
