so jerry is a good GM and we have talent
jason is a good coach and we have discipline and accountability

why then are we not winning?

oh wait.... i forgot.... it is injuries, bad luck, the conspiracy of NFL referees union along with a double secret coocoo conspiracy by NFL itself

gotcha

Never said any of that.

You just can't refute the contradictory nature of those that claim that we'll cut players for making a mistake and the next second claim there is a lack of accountability. Therefore, you resort to making things up.

i was waiting for this. i expect similar comments from ratliff soon and definitely hatcher next year if he leaves. i'm always curious how these guys who leave the team would compare their current situations to their time in dallas, and what the hell is the problem here.

this is a big issue and something i've been harping on for years. there is a lack of cohesion/chemistry for some reason with this franchise every year. you also don't get the sense the team is ever having fun like the vibe i get from other teams.

and that my friend starts at the top...all we can do as fans as hope some day once again our team is on top of the mountain..unfortunately we have been at the base for almost twenty years...greed at the top filters down...what really is more important money aka (ATT Stadium) or the desire to prove you deserve to own the Cowboys...i think we all know where we are..but root...root away...

On thanksgiving everyone make sure and close your eyes and be a little extra thankful for the jones family.

Jerry gives us a competitive advantage because of where we live today ....sports.

Stephen jones's brilliant work in the front office where he gloats about everyone wanting our players at training camp, then gets nothing in return for any of them and by Halloween we are short multiple players at a number of positions. And the secret sauce he has discovered in his time as nfl executive.

Charlotte, she has helped us in 4 key ways. The first is she got married and thanks to this there is somebody there in a pinch to clean Jerry's glasses, she gave birth to Spaulding who will no doubt take over someday and maintain the championship level football his family produces, she opened a Victoria's Secret inside the stadium......it's so far beyond incredulously dumb that it must be brilliant. Finally she brings us the tremendous musical acts we get on thanksgiving with rock n roll legends such as Selena Gomez, Los lonely boys and Jessica Simpson. All will be in the hall in Cleveland someday.

Jerry jones jr. I have nothing to say he is the only one who does not talk to the media.

We are in excellent shape, pay no attention to will Allen's obvious comments.

The Dallas Cowboys always have lofty expectations placed on their shoulders every September when the NFL season begins.
.

Again, when was the last time that Dallas had a legitimate "rebuilding" season(s)? When did we say "we're ok not winning this year b/c we're building for the future" ...maybe 1989-1990?

But I see that as a product of Jerry the Owner not being able to sell/make money off of "we're rebuilding." Like everything in Dallas, it starts and ends with Jerry Jones.

Translation - It's all Jerry's fault. And it is. Nothing else needs to be said. And it's the worst possible answer because it looks like he has no intentions of stepping back. Only the fans not going to games and not buying merchandise can change that.

I do not know how many of you have ever worked for small companies where the ownership interjects themselves often (and many times inconsistently) into the fray with the mid-management decisions and it causes issues. If you have, I think you might appreciate how it impacts morale and cohesion.

Especially when they don't know what the #^%$ their doing.

There's a reason jerry ain't a punter.

Interesting to see that some of the people who once were immediately dismissive of those critical of Jerry Jones have now joined the chorus.

That Jones - not "total control" Jason Garrett - indicated that Callahan will remain play caller tells us all we need to know (though how many are left that didn't already realize it?).

Contrary to many nonsensical posts here in the last 5 years, GMs matter. Someone should do a football 101 on that.

@ESPNDallas: Will Allen: Micro-management hinders Cowboys http://es.pn/1jmqJxt” surprised to see Allen's comments. I disagree slightly.
Cowboys coaches aren't micro managing the players. If a guy messes up he should be held accountable and that's what's happening.
I don't believe Garrett is felling the pressure either. He's trying to solve the problems and manage Jerry Jones.

In the end, everyone who offers an opinion is speaking strictly from a personal perspective. Nothing more.

This is true... But who do you listen to? The guy who hasn't been in the lockerroom in 20+ years or the guy who just left it 20 minutes ago?

And even with Will, he gets a shrug from me. He was a guy here only for a cup of coffee and somehow can now provide in-depth analysis as to why the Cowboys haven't succeeded over the years? Meh. He's just another guy who turned out not to be a solution towards getting the team over the hump. Wish him the best with the team of his heart.

Usually not a good thing when your safeties are making a bunch of tackles.

True, but Will's problem here was that he wasn't making any. My man was getting abused. And I think the team's philosophy now is they're willing to live with a guy like Heath or Wilcox who makes mistakes, but are learning. They're not as willing to live with a guy like Will, whose a 10-year vet, who should know better.

We have lots of examples of players saying similar things. Bradie James said last year that the atmosphere the owner creates in Dallas is a problem.

And parcells had the ultimate comment..."when I leave you will never know I was here"

That's it. Nothing else needs to be said. We had a chance to win for a few years with a team built by parcells and in his mold, tough players playing through injuries and attempting to be good up front. All the time.

Those days are over. It's like 99 or 2000 around here again and it stinks for us fans.

Maybe it's that obvious to an outsider that has been in locker-rooms of winning teams.

Our guys that are in the locker-room every day may be too close to the situation to recognize it.

The old "can't see the forest for the trees" deal.

When it comes to the top of the roster, you had better believe there is a lack of accountability.

Oh you mean like when they benched the team's best running back for fumbling? Or the #6 pick overall for poor play?

You can't have it both ways, if Allen didn't like his feelings hurt than he should have quit. Fortunately for him he got cut and picked up by his BFF.

I see all of that, my comment was only to the fact that Heath has more tackles in 3 games than Allen in 6, ... like that was a good thing.

That is a good question! :) If I was to listen to anyone who has an opinion on what goes on at VR it would be Brad Sham or the Fish. They appear to have true insight into the daily workings at the Ranch and tend to be partial as well even though they represent the Cowboys in some capacity.

I typically never listen to players/former players or coaches/former coaches -- whether its a positive or negative comment -- because their impressions/interpretations tend to be skewed.

Maybe... and I'm almost willing to accept that if he hadn't said that the micro-managing makes it harder because players are worrying about getting benched. Isn't that the name of the game, tho...at least for the non-stars?

You produce, you play. You don't, you go to ST. After ST, then it's on the streets. Just saying, I just don't find what he said all that compelling.

Yeah...but then Will played with a different cast of characters, as well. The last three games, we've had a banged up Ware or no Ware, at all. Banged up Hatcher, or no Hatcher. a rotating Carter/Sims duo. No Claiborne. ...and the where's waldo crew on the DL. lol

I'd say injuries had more to do with that anything else.
