I think if we're looking for pass rushers, you can get guys like that without trading up too much. I'd much prefer being able to snag someone like Sidbury in the third than moving up for English (assuming that Sidbury isn't gone by that time anyway).

I think Hakeem Nicks would be a guy that they would look to move up for, too.

The knock on him is quickness. Will he be able to separate against tight NFL coverage? Plus, he showed up over weight at his pro day. Do you think Jerry paid him?

He does run great routes, and he's physical. Boldin is a good comparison. He looks like a hybrid WR/TE to me. He is a power or possession guy who can work the middle. He isn't a speed demon as most of you already know.

If he has a first round grade and you can get him in round 2, I can understand wanting to move up for him.

William Beatty would be another one to watch, but tackles rise.

I would say:

Hakeem Nicks
William Beatty
Louis Delmas
Phil Loadholt

Two of those guys were mentioned by Mosley.

Delmas aint worth it

a guy like Eric Woods would be worth it

Agreed. Drew Boylhart(thehuddlereport.com) rates him as a 4th round prospect. Delmas has average skills, but tested well at the combine. However, according to Drew, Delmas hasn't faced top competition and the competition he has faced really took advantage of his agressiveness. Drew basically says that Delmas was constantly tricked by play action, and Delmas wasn't a smart player who lacked instincts and play recognition. Drew rates Chung, the kid from Alabama (Richardson?), and the kid from Missouri as top prospects. He calls the kid from Missouri the closest thing to Paulamalo in this draft, but that's going more off his junior season. He absolutely loves Sean Smith, and thinks he's a future probowl CB, but doesn't think he projects well to FS because of his lack of tackling and inability to put on the weight/muscle that the FS position demands. Also, he loves Chip Vaughn (west virginia?), and feels Chip will be a probowl type safety, in a year or two, after he works on his negatives and becomes a complete player.

FYI: Drew rates players strictly from game film only. He doesn't go by combine numbers or testing.

 Credibility lost. Ware and Osi didn't face good competition either. That's a dumb argument. The guy can just flat out play whether it's against Mcneese St or USC.

the kid from Alabama is Rashad Johnson, and Chip Vaughn went to Wake Forest

Delmas just doesn't do anything for me

Big, physical WR with good hands who punishes would be tacklers once he has the ball. Perfect compliment to Williams. Reminds me of Boldin.

He reminds me of Irvin, never more so than when I see clips of him working the sidelines, and running slants... the Playmaker was the best at that; his ability to work the sidelines, tapdance to keep both feet in while making the catch, is what made him able to beat DBs deep... they'd bite on that out move, because they didn't dare not bite on it...

And later in the draft, Quan Cosby really conjures up memories of Kelvin Martin... same height, same kind of speed, the biggest difference is Quan has a more muscular build... and both were effective in the return game...

That comparison only occurred to me last night, I think it's an apt comparison...

As I understand that-- and understand I'm getting this from what his agent said, so it might be spin-- Hakeem couldn't run when he hurt his hamstring at the combine, so to compensate he hit the weights heavy, and most of the weight was added bulk in his upper body... that same agent also said he'd already lost six of the fourteen pounds he'd gained...

I would say:

Hakeem Nicks
William Beatty
Louis Delmas
Phil Loadholt

IMO, Loadholt is another Kevin Gogan, and if he finds success in the NFL, it's more likely to be at OG than at RT...

Which is not a knock on him...

:D I thought of Irvin watching him too though Nicks uses his hands more/better than Irvin.

A player we might move up to the 40's for is Hakeem Nicks.

Please let this happen. Where are people currently projecting him to go??

If we trade up to 40 or so, it'd be for Robiskie most likely. I can't imagine Nicks lasting that long, but stranger things have happened. I'd be happy with both guys, more happy with Nicks.

We'd be set on offense for 5+ years with Nicks IMO.
Roy-26
Nicks-22
Witten-26
Romo-29
Bennett-22
Barber-26
Felix-22
Choice-24

WOW! We could essentially not draft any skill position players on offense in the high rounds for 3-4 years lol. Those guys are also locked up long term. That three headed monster at RB are here till 2012.

Blasphemy-- NOBODY ever used his hands more/better than Irvin... rather than his bust going into Canton, it should have been his hands...
