i would be shocked if the cowboys trade up way high into the 40's, i think its a mistake, you should wait til the draft comes to you

granted, if you think you can get a really good player at 48, then do so if your players are falling, but dont trade up above that, you would give away some top picks you have,

to me its important that we keep our 2nd, 3rd and 2 fouths;

i dont have a problem with trading one of the 5th, or 6th or 7th, but dont trade away picks higher than that. You can get good quality players to me, with that 2nd, 3rd and 2 fourth rounders.

Letting the draft come to you means not reaching for players. However, what it seems Dallas has done the past few years that has led to such great draft results, is let the draft board be the deciding factor on what we do. If you have one player on your board that is rated way above everyone else, if you can move up to get him, then you are crazy not to.

It depends who falls. No way we select 11 players this draft. We do not have 11 open roster spots.

Moving up in round two is costly though, it may cost us that 3rd round pick this year. I'm not one for trading away next years picks either, i'd rather stockpile a couple of 2010 picks from other teams.

The issue comes about if say a james laurenaitis falls to 44/45. Is he worth moving up for?? Or Delmas??

All of them are up for grabs by whoever can best handle them. Cowboy Joe is right. Select as many good players as you can and then let the best man win. Nobody knows who might be replaced by a rookie, either now or next year. Under some circumstances, any of them could be, even Romo or Ware.

:)

I reread Joe's post and disagree with him about the later picks. That's where the team gets such people as Ratliff and Scandrick.

I agree. Maybe even into the 30's.

That could cost us our 1st 4th rounder at the top of the round. Tough call, but I'd love to have him.

I know you arn't asking me, but I'll tell yo what I think. DHB is going to be a huge bust because of his sloppy routes and questionable hands. He's going to be Ted Ginn. Kenny Britt is a huge pre-madonna and diva. When people compare him to TO it isn't just because his physical attributes..

Ted Ginn is hard, Ginn will be a stud if the fish ever gets a QB.
