Phil Simms is a disgrace

I don't know which announcer did it, but he pronounced Keith Brooking's last name correctly but then corrected himself with "Brookings". I heard it a few times actually.

I thought he was terrible and most of the time I hear him he is average at best anyway. That Miles Austin play where his shin hit the ground, the Ware sack at the end of the half where he said it was an incomplete pass, and the Watkins body slam on the punt return by Oakland where he said it was close to a penalty was typical terrible Simms.

the first one he was right he was down
the second he said he thought he maybe scoop passed it but on seeing the replay its clearly a sack
the third i'll agree was a strange comment

*Shrugs* Personally I don't care, during the games, if they're overly nice toward our opponents. It just makes wins even better when that happens.

Though today I dont really see the gripe. I dont think he was bad toward either side.

I don't think they favored one team or another, I just don't think either of them are good announcers.

The one comment I got pissed over was Simms saying "Dallas really gets an extra bye with the layoff".

W T F ???

So does the Raiders, Packers, Lions, Broncos, and Giants.

But ofcourse Simms doesnt mention that.

Not only that, but they mentioned the Cowboys December troubles every year. If Thanksgving is such an advantage, why do the Cowboys struggle after it every year?

He is still easier on the ears than Buck and Aikman.

I did not hear much of the broadcast, but I'm sure that must be true.

You can't "suplex" a guy into the ground, per Aikman. They may be only pertaining to a QB though, not sure.

Well, only guy I like on CBS is James Brown. Cowher is kind of iffy too. But he is not even close to be as bad as Sharper or Marino. Both clearly don't like Cowboys and let that cloud their judgements.

Yeah Sharpe isn't brightest guy on the set...

Just wait until Matt Millen and Bob Pappa call our game.

He's very stupid and annoying. Did you see him ringing the bell as they were putting money in the salvation army bin? What the hell?

I agree with the OP. I thought it was pretty disgusting at times. Any time there was a call go Dallas' way, he would argue the opposite and vice versa. He's annoying. Can't stand the guy.

Nantz did mention Roger Staubach is his favorite player ever.

He's a Cowboys fan, guys.

He announces AFC games and is always pumping up the AFC team. Not a big deal. I would take him over Aikman calling the game anyday.

Don't get the Aikman hate............

I have a hard time putting a finger on what irritates me so much about Simms, but whatever it is, it's the same thing Steve Young has. I don't know what it is about the game they enjoy, because they always seem so bitter and unhappy--no sense of humor whatsoever, especially about themselves.

Why? I think he's a good commentator. He certainly knows what he's talking about.

I did get a kick out of the body slam pat Watkins put on the kick returner. Phil Simms only comment was "that was close to a penalty".

Penalty? what? being to rough?

I had no problem with Nantz and Simms. I think they do a great job. My mom came over in the afternoon and commented on how many commercials there were.

I find the stereo sound is better on CBS than Fox.
