Can I borrow your time machine?

Yes. You may travel back about 18ish years to see what winning feels like. I hope you have enough plutonium to travel back that far.

And go...

Like many experts have said over the last few months, Simms, an NFL broadcaster for CBS, says Romo is the main reason the Cowboys even had a chance at reaching the postseason in 2012.

“I think it was a good signing by the Cowboys,” Simms said. “If they wouldn’t have signed him and he became a free agent, everybody says, ‘Oh, just let him go.’ My God, there would’ve been teams doing cartwheels trying to get him. I think everybody in the league realizes the talent. I read some things that people said about Tony Romo.

“The Dallas Cowboys were probably a 4-12, 6-10 team last year and he was at least fighting to get them into the playoffs to the last game of the year. Now, we’ve all of a sudden created a new stat for Tony Romo, elimination games. We don’t say it about any other quarterback, but elimination games for Tony Romo because it sounds a lot better. ‘We can get more losses on that column.’

“But the guy is an unbelievable talent. And he had very little help at times in Dallas last year. If they get the team around him and the talent level hasn’t decreased, I think he really became a man and took over the Dallas Cowboys last year. And all that playoff stuff and everything, it doesn’t bother me at all. Let’s put it this way, if I was a head coach or owner or general manager, I would feel really good if Tony Romo was my quarterback and if he was out there I’d take him in a second and put my future on the line with him.”

why does everyone insist 4-12 would be bad for this team? It probably puts them in a position to radically alter their current path of winless playoff football. Of course this would mean Jerry would have to draft well at those early draft spots.

Simms is pretty nice. That's all I'm going to say :laugh1:.

I like him a lot more than McNabb and Theisman

It's a team game when we lose, but Romo is the only thing standing between us and 0-16.

Quarterbacks, good quarterbacks who know the game, watch Tony Romo and see he is good.

Fans, ignorant fans who haven't sniffed a Super Bowl in two decades will scapegoat whoever is convenient, and that is Romo.

Humans are often irrational, illogical, and irascible. Cowboy fans are often all three.

Or fans that understand the game will watch Romo and see great heroics and times when he is human and makes mental errors.

Then there are fans that spend their time working on the beatification of Romo.

Water walking will soon be on his resume.

In my time of watching and being a fan the Cowboys since 1977, they've had 4 good QB's. Staubach and Aikman, who everybody loves. Romo and Danny White, who so many want to tear down. :banghead:

i know you weren't asking me but i will answer anyhow!

the qb has more say on who wins or loses than any other single player. even so, there are only a few games that i can honestly put on romo's back. the latest one would be the final game from last year. he played bad, plain and simple.

there have been so many more games (in my opinion) that romo was the primary reason the cowboys had a chance to win. i would put the ratio at 5-1 or even more.

all this talk about letting romo walk was crazy. have we already forgotten the years after aikman retired?

But that one was kind of important due to the playoff implications and probably part of the reason people say he chokes under pressure.

I'm optimistic that if we can get a consistent running game and he doesn't have to throw all the time the defenses won't be able to play pass first and JG will be able to call a more balanced game.

What's Ware's record in elimination games?

Sounds like we got two chokers we need to move on from.

I think its JG or the long snapper JP. Rowdy has got to go!

Although Romo makes mistakes during a game, so does everyone else.

I've played organized sports and I know what it takes for a TEAM to come together and win a game. Just like your son in hockey...the boy cannot do it alone, he needs help!

But, foolish people that have never played organized sports, or just don't have simple logic cannot see that. It's really sad...

You know what makes this board so insufferable sometimes? Comments like yours that just are flat out condescending and ridiculous. I played sports. Many sports. I played football. That doesn't mean that if I am not an extremist like you that I don't understand stuff. I just happen to be objective. I think Romo takes too much heat and I think he has done some great things. BUT I also think he makes boneheaded plays and kills momentum in some games. See how that works? It's called actually watching the games without a preconceived "Romo can do no wrong" or "Romo stinks" mindset.

Quote of the day!!:laugh2:

I heard this all day yesterday...TEAM. But in these cases he is single handedly keeping us at .500. Which is it? Again, be objective people.

Or you can just figure out that things aren't absolutes, learn a little about being objective and we all can have adult discussions...like 43 year olds have. :)
