If Pederson and McVay end up in the NFC championship game, I think I'll lose my mind.
op really comparing their losses at those positions to ours lol.. lee elliot and smith? really?
Yeah, really. Peters outplayed Smith this year and Hicks was playing at Pro Bowl level this year. Toss in our best CB, our ST captain Maragoes and spark plug in Sproles. Yes, really!
for the season. Just thought I would remind everyone about that. Yet we fall apart when we lose just one. It's really amazing.
It is comparable cause Peters was playing better then any LT in the NFL and Hicks is just one of those stars without name recognition. Don't forget we lost our #1 CB, are ST captain too. Obviously Zeek is waaaaay better then Sproles but Sproles does so much for this team. Returns kicks and is a fabulous 3rd down back. We lost a crap ton of talent.
And neither are as good as the 3 we lost. Also maybe the talent drop off isn't as steep for their backups..something to think about. Sheesh
Garrett is a good coach. And he's turned this roster into a top heavy and underperforming roster to a top heavy roster that performs and has developing youth.
People keep pointing to the overnight success stories in the NFL to discredit Garrett.... But tell me which and how many teams have won the superbowl over his tenure? How many were rags to riches in a way that's comparable to some of the praise being heaped on rams and eagles coaching staffs?
It's hard as hell to win in the NFL when you get into a one and done situation. Even if you're really good.
And the criticisms don't past muster. Oh our offenses suck and aren't original! Then we finish with another top 5 performance. Oh we abandon the run! Zeke or some other RB finishes with 20+ carries. Oh we suck at game management! Last year we won most of our one score games.
Just reactionary nonsense.
Peters is just as good as Smith. Hicks isn't as good as Lee but he is still a pro bowler and excellent. Add in Maragoes, our #1 CB in Derby too. Sproles is a dynamite weapon and these guys are lost for the year, not a week or two.
Stop with Maragos. For chrissakes. It weakens your argument.
He is a ST star. That's a position Philly takes very seriously and why they always have one of the best ST in football. ST is a big part of the game and the guy has blocked punts, scored TD's, etc. Its just Another piece lost for the year. Maybe you look at ST differently than the Eagles.
So in 7 years a total of 8 teams have made the ship. Since he took over how many times did we think this team was SB worthy? Playoff worthy?PS - 5 different SB champs since 2011, 8 different teams have made the SB.
Sproles isn't even the lead back much less in Zeke's level. To try and compare Sproles and Zeke is laughable.Sproles is still a stud and can do so many things including punt returns. Peters is right there neck and neck with Tyron as well.
What I find funny is Pederson and JG are similar. Both longtime backup QB's. Then QB coaches and neither had called plays until they became HC's. Yet one had years of experience and a great teacher. The other given something before earning anything.
Darby wasn't even on the team long enough to make an impact.Sproles to Zeke...of course not
Hicks to Lee...not yet but he is a stud LB, just much younger.
Peters to Smith..hell yes I'll compare them. Peters is a HoFer.
They also lost Darby...their best CB in week 1.
Listen, one can argue the Cowboys injuries are worse overall, that's fine. But to say they are not comparable is just plain wrong. That would be the reach. Any time a team loses their best player in 4 position groups, it's huge.
Sproles isn't even the lead back much less in Zeke's level. To try and compare Sproles and Zeke is laughable.
Peters use to be on Tyron level but let's be serious here he isn't the same player anymore.
Darby wasn't even on the team long enough to make an impact.
Again it's laughable to try and compare Sproles to Zeke.
Sure you could compare Peters or any other player in past history in their prime. Fact is Peters isn't their best OL anymore and he want playing at an all pro level.
Hicks doesn't come close to having the impact that Lee has.
To argue otherwise is silly and untrue
for the season. Just thought I would remind everyone about that. Yet we fall apart when we lose just one. It's really amazing.
Lane Johnson is their best OL and no Peters wasn't outplaying Smith this seasonPeters was having a hell of a year. He played nicked up a lot last year and still made his 9th pro bowl. This year would've been his 10th. I think he deserves the respect. If we're really going to be serious, it's not a stretch to say Peters was outplaying Tyron Smith so far this year. Tyron's a stud for sure, but he's been having his own issues before his groin injury this year.
Doesn't make it any less true. Lee is the general of the defense, Hicks is just a guyWell that says a lot more about the rest of the Cowboys defense than it does about Lee.
