I saw that in his note and made sure that I recorded it in my brain as an exaggeration. I really hope it was an exaggeration.

I wish it were man, but no they actually did. I was amazed, i saw it on my way out at the half. Group of idiots probably 20-30 of them all hammered, whats the poor kids father going to do? Get up and fight it would have been a death wish.

W

where did u get cheesesteak. And what parts of city did you see.

I went to Jims for the cheesesteak. Was told it was either there or Ishkaboobles for the best one. Didnt get a chance to go to Nicks that was kind of upsetting. I was also not allowed to tailgate with anyone. My friend who is a philly fan had to keep bringing me drinks from eagles fans lol I saw Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia Art Museum, it was a pretty solid time i cant lie. The city offered a lot more then the fans though lol

That would really make me angry if someone did that to my kid. I think I would freak out. It's really not a good idea to bring kids to that environment. Should get seats at a closer or safer location if bringing kids.

May seem unfair but it's just a rowdy environment

A real home field advantage makes it frightening for opposing fans to attend wouldn't you agree?

Chiefs
Seahawks
Bills
Patriots
Bears
Packers

There is a list very quickly of teams that traditionally have a great home field/crowd advantage without the reputation described in this thread.

EDIT: Oops forgot about the Bears stabbings. Chalk that one up to the Raiders/Eagles style.

Still - it is possible to have a great home field advantage and reputation without creating an environment that families couldn't enjoy.

I can't believe people would pour beer on kids. Egging a bus is one thing, but this. Animals.

Home safe and sound from Philadelphia. Had a great time. If I could sum up the trip in one word. I'd say it was entertaining. Every city obviously has bad apples, but wow Philadelphia fans for the most part were not that bad. I was sitting literally in the worst part of the stadium with my cowboys jersey on. I got heckled yeah, but nothing too bad. I thought I was in for a good time. Until halftime. The feeling I had in my stomach told me to get out of their immediately. That is when the fans turned into the classless bottom feeding rejects we have all heard about. Pouring beer on kids wearing youth cowboys jerseys, throwing footballs at cowboys fans (me) . Then. Literally every single time the refs called a penalty completely going off and losing their minds saying jerry paid them off it was easily one of the quickest turn around I've ever seen at a sporting event. Would I go back? Not to watch the Cowboys play. Met some excellent people mostly cowboys fans ate a great cheesesteak and had a good time with my friends, saw some amazing architecture and beautiful brownstone mansions the hotel staff were awesome just that damn toilet of a stadium was not a good experience at all. Next year I'm going to dallas. Too watch a real team play and meet fans that care about the sport more about their own hatred.

You're braver than most. That kind of environment would definitely discourage opposing fans to buy tickets.

That's my thought.

I'd never take my kid to that place because we'd all be going to jail for sure if they through beer on my kid. I'd definitely fight the person(s) who did that kind of ********.

I would bet that there are drunken fans that throw beer at plenty of stadiums in the upper levels.

That can't be. These threads assure me that only in Philthydelphia does such vileness exist.

it would be hard not to. Best to avoid the possibility of that all together.

Football stadiums are generally rowdy environments. Add drunken fans to the mix who get bitter when they lose and you've got to expect that a whole lot can happen.

Not surprised one bit. These were the same fans who taunted Joe Jurevicious about his infant son who was gravely ill before that NFC title game they lost in 02. Kharma is a bi**h. Lowlifes for sure. Its ashame for the good Eagle fans cause despite what people think they do exist.

You wouldn't bring your son through a bad neighborhood late at night so it's the same thing here. Can't bring your kids or anyone for that matter and wear Cowboys jerseys ie targets on your back and go in that place ever. It's ashame. Makes me even happier we won.

Glad you had you Cowboys gear on. It makes the win that much better.

The classless eagles fans only go after soft targets at their games.

Like i said, i will be heading to Dallas next season. Wouldnt mind being there for the home opener. Its just a big mission for me being from Toronto. Ill probably travel to Buffalo and take a flight from there. Met some pretty awesome boys fans too.

We play in Buffalo next year too so you may get a chance to catch a couple games.

Southwest airlines flies from Buffalo to Dallas, and Rochester to Dallas. Between now and then, you could probably get a "wanna get away" deal for the flight. Just a thought.

I just cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would actually get physical or even verbally abusive over cheering for a sport that you have zero control over the outcome. Some harmless heckling sure, but to poor beer on someone because they prefer to follow and cheer on a team other than mine? sigh.
That happened to me in 1988 at the Superdome. I was obviously pregnant at the time, too. Saints fans are a close 2nd to Eagle fans.
