Philthy game tonight

I agree. This is one of the challenges the Cowboy have this year taking the NFC East. It is great to talk about how over rated the eagles are or how their QB is over rated but until the Cowboys knock them off the top of the NFC East it is just a bunch of talk.

You're right, but that's all we've got at this point.

It's time for the Cowboys' on paper talent to show it on field.

I don't want to be like the Commander fans who like to talk smack with nothing to show for it. Dallas needs to take care of business and go out and take what belongs to us but until then there is not much I can say against Philly because if they are so over rated then it does not say much about us.

That's right. and according to the Goose on with Norm this morning, on the Ticket. He was at all the other 3 NFC East teams' camps. Hasn't been to Dallas' yet. He said Eagles still look like an elite team. And from afar, Dallas is 2nd behind them.

And until we knock the Eagles off their perch, I have to agree with him.

I hate the eagles more than any other team but that is the way things are right now hopefully after this season that will change. I do think we have the talent but this is a show me league.

Yes, I agree. as I hate them more also.
Also Goose said that the Colts were impressed with the Cowboys defense, saying they expect them to be very good.

Given all the 1st rd picks on defense we should be very good.

Too bad 'Goose' is a clueless Eagles homer living in Dallas.

He should stick to calling GM's the night before the draft.

It's the only thing he's good at.

I watched some of the game last night.

I still think Considine sucks. I mean really sucks.

Westbrook had nice moves on that screen pass that gained +20 yds.

Bunkley didn't impress me. Neither did Spikes.

Like I said, I only watched some of the game, but I saw the hit the Eagles punter recieved on Sportscenter. I thought Sean Taylor put on a Ravens jersey just for that play.

He can't be too clueless considering the Eagles once again took the NFC East last year. I was reading some old articles from Goose when Dallas was the team at the top and he had many positive articles about the Cowboys. You want respect and you want the positive media attention then you go earn it.

Ike Reese, who was doing color for the game, said during the broadcast, "The Eagles offensive line is really struggling to deal with the 3-4 scheme. Thankfully, no teams in the NFC East run the 3-4". Doh! LOL.

I missed this earlier... He really said that?

i thought spikes would be a big upgrade, but then i heard he is recovering from an injury ??(didnt pay that much attention to him last year) and someone reported there are mixed reviews on how he is doing, he didnt look great last night.

also it seems loike the eagles dline was getting blow off the ball. The ravens do have a good oline but i know the eagles are trying to determine if howard or cole will start at DE opposite kearse. I personally think kearse best days are behind him and he seems awfully light for DE, think he'll get pushed around a lot on running plays. I dont think howard has been good for a few years, so im confused why some reports have their front seven rated very high. ???

Westbrook had nice moves on that screen pass that gained +20 yds. Yeah, he looks ready to go. No matter how many passes to the right flatto him that I see, they always seem to work great.

Bunkley didn't impress me. Neither did Spikes. Neither Bunkley nor Patterson showed me much. Unless that improves, I think you may get gashed with the run. I thought Spikes made a few nice plays.

That was a disgusting cheap shot. That guy could have been seriously injured. I hope the league levels a heavy fine.

Kolb looks like a keeper, despite pedestrian numbers. He hit guys in the hands and they dropped the ball. Not to mention that his line did a terrible job of blocking for him.

And I don't see any depth on the O-line that some have talked about.

The TE Celek had a good night. I think he replaces LJ Smith either this season or next.

Howard hasn't shown me that he's worth the money that he's getting.

His only great game was against Dallas in Philly, last year. But that was it.

IMHO, Kearse can get the job done if he can stay healthy. I think Trent Cole has been doing a lot better job then Howard. Hopefully Bunkley and Patterson will move that middle more, instead of getting pushed around. The run defense is definitely my biggest concern. McGahee broke off some nice runs during that 1st drive.

I went to the game last night. Really good seats-35 yard line lower level-like watching a high school game. Philly came in flat and from the start had no chance...There were a fair share of Eagles fans at the game and it was fun watching them just sit there and stare into space.

Jevon Kearse is a beast. Until you see him up close, you can't gain perspective on why they call him the "Freak." Luckily, he has been injured and pretty much a dud in Philly.

Ohh god howard eskin is already making excuses. He said the ravens LB who took out the punter is an cheap shot artist. The last time i checked the punter was apart of the action. How soon they forget that in the 90's they had a bounty out on our kicker tony zendajas. Spin control is in full effect.

Yes indeed. He said it just after the two minute warning for the first half.

let's not get too excited just yet... didn't the colts win the SB last year after going 0-4 in the preseason?

The question is, how well did the Colts starters play in those preseason games. If the starters played well and they lost the game in the 3rd-4th quarter when the third team players are playing (like the Titans loss to the skins) then that statement has no merit. On the other hand, if the Colts first team stunk it up then I would say that you may have a point.

I think fans tend to use the preseason won-loss record to prove/dis-prove how good or bad a team may or may not be in the regular season when the real test is how well did the players who will be around in the regular season play, develop chemistry, execute as a team, etc. That I believe is a good indication of how well a team will do in the regular season

As for the NFC east thus far, It seems like the Cowboys excelled while the rest had issues when the first team was on the field. Let's hope that trend continues.
