I've been saying all year that the Cowboys should focus the draft on the offensive and defensive lines. To win in the NFL, you need to be able to run the ball and stop the run. I was lambasted by many here who said "It's a passing league now". Well, look at rushing offensive rankings of the 4 teams left:

San Francisco 3
Seattle 4
New England 9
Denver 15

Well, it is a passing league but the run is still needed, at least the ability to situational run and not call a one-sided game. For the above teams:

1. Both, SF and Seattle don't have good enough QB's to win by the passing game, so they win by rushing and mainly defense.

2. NE was pretty much forced to go to the run since their receiving core was decimated.

3. Denver has an elite QB know for throwing yet they still have a decently balanced offense.

Teams can win by the run and teams can win via passing but most have one thing in common, a good to great defense. Den and NE don't have great ones but they do have the two best QB's and still manage to call run plays to balance out the offense.

IMO, the passing game wins in the regular season but it is a whole new approach in the playoffs.......it is all about defense and the run game.....neither of which Dallas possesses. Well, we could have a run game but that is a different topic.

We do have a running game. I don't think there is any debate about that. But that defense......

Your were right.

If you can stop their running game, and they can't stop yours, ... that is winning football. It's that simple.

Yep, gosh darn it, if the Cowboys offense and Tony Romo were any good the Cowboys would have been in the Super Bowl this season.

They might as well quit keeping those stats where Dallas ranking top 10 in points per game scored and bottom 5 in points allowed.

i don't care how many big boys we draft, jason garrett is not the right coach to implement physical football.

This and the fact, we seem to love these nice guys....like Ware. With guys like him on the team, expect powder puff type football

Only guys with a little bit of attitude are Lee, Oscan, and Church on offense Dez and Murray. That is not enough. Any of these guys get crunk, or show major emotion, you see dudes on the bench looking and starring like "Is he ok?" or "man I'm just tryna get my *** to the house and kick back"

Or you get the Ware's and Witten's "Hey calm down man, take a deep breathe, we have been here before, what else is new Dez?...ok ok, but look at the scoreboard bro, a few seconds left, we can make something shake, if not, is life really over? We played this movie before, calm down"

We are to flooded with Marsh Mello, yellow players.

Sorry, .. but does your post address the point that AmbeBeer made about OL and DL ?

If Romo stops playing like a Bus Driver, we might overcome a ton of things

When you can't run the ball or stop the run, you probably won't make the Super bowl. Dallas was 31st in the NFL in running the football and 27th in the NFL at stopping the run.

I was going to hit the 'Like' button, .. but even though I agree, I don't like it.

So I didn't, .. LOL.

agree,we will continue to drat finesse players too.

Like Dez, Lee, Smith, Murray, Frederick, Williams, Wilcox etc?

I am 100% for getting better and more physical along the lines but I wouldn't say we have been drafting a bunch of finesse players.

Too many here oversimplify to make a point rather than research and theorize from real data.
Or use their sarcasm every. single. post.
Whether that's because of laziness or agenda- it doesn't matter.
The simpletons and people who refuse to debate good points run rampant around here though and there is no getting around it.
I beg for some here to come back at responses like yours and get nothing but the vacuum of space.
I could name names, but they're too busy caring about "Likes" to worry about other things like making cognitive and successive sense and couldn't care less about what I say- so be it.

No offense to anybody in particular...
Just the truth.

it is not a good idea to draft physical football players when we will be playing flag football in about 5 years
