mattjames has been rooting for Randle to fail, so OF COURSE is he going to pick out 1 play to support his agenda. Randle could have done better on this run, but Randle has made something out of nothing or a lot out of a little many times, so its really a mute point.
I'm not "rooting" for him to fail. I praised him in the San Fran game and thought he did some nice things.
And no, I didn't pick out one play. I said he missed an obvious hole that would have shown the coaches something and would have not only sustained the drive, but made his night look a little more productive with his limited touches. I also pointed out that he was bad in pass blocking, which I and many others pointed out. Something that is disappointing because he actually looked good last year with his blocking.
I'm not rooting for him to fail, if he comes in and is a 1,000 yard rusher for us; I'm happy. If he's in a backup role and he produces like he did last year in a limited amount of carries, I'm happy. I'm simply saying, this is how you lose a battle for the starting job. McFadden capitalized on his opportunities. He's already known to be a great pass blocker and he showed the other night that he has some juice left. If he stays healthy, that's a whole other discussion.
Randle just provided us evidence that he's not ready for the starting job.
