The price already is there. He’s better than everyone who got paid. Hes better then Aiyuk, Higgins and McLaurin.

What if in game 16 or 17 he suffers an injury that requires him to miss all of 2026?

We've had a lot of paid players missing games or entire seasons lately so I have no issue at all to waiting to sign anyone to an extension at this point.

From the Cowboys perspective, they could franchise tag him if they really want him back in 2026.

From Pickens' side, given the season he is having, I doubt he wants to talk about a contract extension right now unless it's for a lot of money because if he continues playing well it could help him land a much larger contract with another team if the Cowboys don't want to pay him.

That was Jerry's excuse with Micah. But Jerry still offers top of the market money to guys who are injured. So what difference does it make?

His agent can refuse to sign the tag prior to the 2026 draft. Can’t trade a player that has not signed his tag. So it would be for 2027 draft picks. Knowing the tag is about $28 million guaranteed and all must apply to the 2026 cap, Mulugheta and Pickens would have nothing to lose by waiting as long as possible to sign the tag.

If you think Jerry Jones is going to sign Pickens ore pay him on a franchise tag next year, then put the thought out of your mind. Jerry thinks one is enough and he can find another WRs to fill in for Pickens. He doesn't have to be great. But there is no way he dedicates $60 million to his QB and another $65 million to his two WRs. I am not certain this is wrong on Jerry's part.
