Tony was not healthy for Carolina. His last healthy game was Philly.
He was plenty healthy to play vs Miami and healthy enough to play vs Carolina. If that's your excuse he will never be "healthy" and all the more reason he should sit and watch the future.

Not being healthy for Miami and Carolina does not mean he will never be healthy. That logic does not follow. He came back before he was fully healthy out of desperation.

Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't. Romo's mechanics are definitely better...they should be. But the dynamic that Dak brings is his feet....and I'm referring to running the ball. Romo cannot do that. Its just another aspect that defenses have to prepare for. Eventually, they will use a spy and that will open up the passing game and more running lanes for Zeke. At this time, in my opinion, Dak is our best option.
Yes, that's why "running quarterbacks" are so valued in the draft. And that's why when I look at past Super Bowl winners, all I see is quarterbacks who run around and are inaccurate passers. It makes perfect sense.

He will always have ailments is what I'm saying, so the logic is clearly there. And if the Philly game is the game you want to use, he wasn't great there either. Is what it is...people have the QB they want in regardless of how well the team is doing. Some people just can't enjoy the ride and look to the future. Lol.

I agree with your assessment of Dak's running, but Romo is a much better thrower of the football and I would rather have that than the running threat. I believe that, more so than Dak's running, will open more lanes for Zeke. Teams won't stack the box against Tony like they do Dak and that will create more room.

At this time, in my opinion, Tony is a much better option.

Purpose of this thread was not to make Dak look bad,it is to show he has a long way to go before he can play at Tonys level.I want Romo to start the momemt he is cleared.

Romo was fine against Philly before he was hurt.

Little ailments everyone will have. Being injured is not. He was still injured. That injury has healed. His current injury will heal. The logic doesn't follow.

He is a much better QB right now. There is no question about this.

If he gets us to the promised land and is good then I'm all for it. If they replace Dak while he is doing well I think it's a lose lose for Tony. They put Romo in when Dak is still doing well...every bad throw, every INT and every loss will cause a divide in the locker room. Fans will boo. It will kill chemistry. That's my worry. No question Romo is the better passer.

Would you like to post some pictures of Romo's last game? It included 3 INT 0 TDs, two pick 6s, and a QB rating of 29.

Im not saying this as a slam on Romo, but let's be fair about this. Dak won his game 29-23, Romo lost his 33-13. Do I think this means Romo is horrible? No, but using this last game trying to prove Romo is better has serious flaws.

You absolutely can use this game. It's about the type of mistakes being made. Dak wasn't seeing the field well for much the night. The blitz was confusing him. He was inaccurate and his mechanics were poor.

These things aren't why Romo struggled against Carolina. Romo struggled because his team was desperate for wins and he tried to play hero ball against the hottest team in the league.

Big difference.

Every QB has bad days. Rookies really have bad days. But with Dak much of his problems come from reading and footwork and those are things he will improve on. The more he plays, the more he will see and learn. His footwork is much better than I expected it to be and he will improve that as time goes on and another off season. The kid has a willingness to learn and the desire to be good and that alone will make him better over time.

Nailed it Conner01.

Wow... ok, one falsity at a time.

Tony in 2014, was vastly superior to Dak today. Any non-biased observer would tell you the same. We have no clue what Romo would look like right now but to suggest he has fallen off a cliff in 18 months is a stretch. He was arguably the best quarterback in the NFL just 2 years ago according to qb rating and yards per pass.

You can not show me videos that "prove" Dak is better than Romo. Tony is a 4 time pro-bowler and has the 3rd highest quarterback rating in NFL history. The videos you suggest just don't exist.

Finally, he hasn't been to an NFC Championship game because he has never had this kind of team around him. He was a "non-catch" away from the NFC championship game just 2 years ago though.
sorry soldier, that was with four minutes on the clock. Aaron Rodgers would have went back down and scored and won so nice try.

There is absolutely a question about this. Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach, two guys who know firsthand what it takes to lead the Cowboys to Super Bowl victories, both say they would stick with Dak.

This is the part where a Romo supporter will inevitably respond, "There is a reason that Hall of Famers aren't coaches" as if that negates the perspective of an accomplished player in the league who has experienced firsthand what it means to play at a championship level.

I guess I'll ask, how do any of us know he is a much better QB now, he still hasn't been cleared to dress out and now the owner is saying not until late in the year. In reality none of us can say what kind of QB he is right now.

Jimmy Johnson also said Dak needs to start...;)
