He is a legitimate 4-3 DE, where I believe the other two are more 3-4 OLB's.Nice! Yea, Stewart is a complete freak show.

ACC is not the SEC and most importantly Merrriman/Ware is not Pierce/Green. Until Sean’s injury, he was actually better then DeMarcus. We saw a similar argument with Ware vs Merriman. We know how that turned out.
Im not that concerned with it tbh. Pearce will eventually play in the upper 260's, even 270's like Lawrence did. He has the frame to add that much weight over time and not lose explosivenessI struggle with evaluating this new modern day edge rushers. They all look to me like 3-4 olb's then then do 4-3 DE's. We already see what struggles Parsons has against the run when he is dealing with those huge Tackles throughout a game. As a pass rusher, Pearce jumps off the screen, but not sure we can have two undersized edge players playing 4-3 DE for this team.
I see he can hold up, but it by no means is his strength. On the NFL level, I think he would be similar to Parsons against the run. Times he will looked stout, times teams will take advantage of his get off, etc.Yea I mean Pearce’s bread and butter is as a rusher but he isn’t a slouch against the run. Very solid PFF run D grade.
I feel like some analysts just look at his weight and lazily make the assumption he isn’t good against the run and put it in the scouting report.
I would group Williams with Stewart as more power type rushers. Walker probably is going to be higher on most boards then both Pearce/Green.I know everyone will say he’s too small, but Jalon Walker should be easily ranked ahead of both.
And Mykel Williams definitely belongs in the conversation as well.
Merriman was a steroid guy.ACC is not the SEC and most importantly Merrriman/Ware is not Pierce/Green. Until Sean’s injury, he was actually better then DeMarcus.
I think teams who are drafting him are for his pass rush abilities, not him being a balanced DE. Problem here is that we need both, but run defense is far weaker then our pass rush cause we have Parsons.Im not that concerned with it tbh. Watch his assignments in the run game. PFF grades can be misleading. TN protected him in the run game. So while yes he did his job he was asked to do, he limits what you can do.Yea I mean Pearce’s bread and butter is as a rusher but he isn’t a slouch against the run. Very solid PFF run D grade.

He def needs to add size and strength but that’s almost every rookie edge that comes into the league. In year 1 it wouldn’t have to be Micah and Pearce on the Edge at all times…Pearce would would likely be splitting snaps with Kneeland (more snaps as rusher) and Micah can blitz off ball.
Have you watched Mykell yet? If you like Stewart you’re going to love him.He is a legitimate 4-3 DE, where I believe the other two are more 3-4 OLB's.
Was he ever suspended for steroids?Merriman was a steroid guy.
I’ve watched him quite a bit and think he showed good progress this year against the run. You can see his length and he had some added pop this year.Watch his assignments in the run game. I really dont see that way with him, I see him as a balanced defender and is a guy you target because you want both an elite pass rusher and quality run defender.I think teams who are drafting him are for his pass rush abilities, not him being a balanced DE. Walker doesn’t do much for me…I wouldn’t take him in the 1st.I know everyone will say he’s too small, but Jalon Walker should be easily ranked ahead of both.

100% agree - I love Pearce bc I think he was of the most balanced DEs in the class.I really dont see that way with him, I see him as a balanced defender and is a guy you target because you want both an elite pass rusher and quality run defender.
Walker to me is somewhere in between Vic Beasley and Bruce IrvinWalker doesn’t do much for me…I wouldn’t take him in the 1st.
Too small to be a full time Edge and not very good as an off the ball backer. Maybe he can be a DPR which has value but I wouldn’t even consider him in a trade down.
Without being as polished as a rusher coming out.Walker to me is somewhere in between Vic Beasley and Bruce Irvin

I see it differently but that's ok.I really dont see that way with him, I see him as a balanced defender and is a guy you target because you want both an elite pass rusher and quality run defender.
Another one cut in the same mold. What worries you is their lack of sack production on the college level, he is more of a traits type of pick. If we are picking at 12, I want a elite pass rusher on the college level, fine with the other two further down.Have you watched Mykell yet? If you like Stewart you’re going to love him.
Currently 11 on the consensus big board so one of my targets at 12.
