Another one cut in the same mold. What worries you is their lack of sack production on the college level, he is more of a traits type of pick. If we are picking at 12, I want an elite pass rusher on the college level, fine with the other two further down.
He is a bit of traits pick…but he was also hurt this year and UGA did him no favors.

6+ sacks and 30+ pressures last year while playing inside at times and also 2 gapping from a 3 man rush. They also rotate the heck out of their players so GA makes it tough for their DL players to put up big sacks. Nolan had like 3 sacks his final year and just put up 10+.

I think he’s a bigger, better and more athletic version of Kneeland as a prospect. I’d have zero issues taking him at 12.

I know everyone will say he’s too small, but Jalon Walker should be easily ranked ahead of both.

And Mykel Williams definitely belongs in the conversation as well.
Walker is my pet cat,his first step quickness is similar to Micah.

He has all the athletic traits to become one of those power LE's. You would think they already have that type although not as talented in Kneeland, but DLaw/Golston may also return next season. If they do take another edge, it's going to be more of a RE pass rusher. Now if they do lose DLaw/Golston, they will need another similar type of defender.

I think Golston is gone and Dlaw might be washed as a pass rusher…we have bigger needs than Edge but if Mykel is BPA I think he should be in consideration.

I'd say Green is DE #2 right now, but Pearce is neck and neck with him, and IMO they are very similar players. I love the kind of power that Green showed at the Senior Bowl, but Pearce's 2 seasons of SEC production are hard to ignore. I wouldn't begrudge anyone at all for preferring Pearce.

I don't really like Mykel Williams. He had low college production, and has a very poor get-off that could lead to low NFL production. He's got his positives of course, but he's got a pretty clear track to busting in the pros, whereas Green and Pearce just don't show that kind of risk. They're going to be at least OK NFL players. So I just can't rate Williams above them.

I think they do bring back both. Williams as a BPA maybe, but they aren't going to take an Edge without elite rush abilities.

Until Sean’s injury, he was actually better then DeMarcus.
No, he was not......he was a very good pass rusher who compromised run responsibilities. In other words, he was more concerned about splash plays and his brand. I recall Parcell specifically saying he wanted Ware to be a complete LBer who defend the run as well pass rush.

I'm not sure about this...maybe Golston but not DLaw. Kneeland was drafted as DLaw's replacement coz he is a good run defender. DLaw is on record wanting to get paid ( he will return "if they pay me" ). It would surprise me if they even bother making him an offer.

We shall find out, he did take a pay cut last time, but maybe looking for that last big deal.

I don't think it's a question.....Dlaw will have at least 2-3 teams willing to pay him more. He's still a very good player.......just Kneeland makes him and a new contract ( market value ) a luxury for us. Like you said...we will see

Walker doesn’t do much for me…I wouldn’t take him in the 1st.

Too small to be a full time Edge and not very good as an off the ball backer. Maybe he can be a DPR which has value but I wouldn’t even consider him in a trade down.
To each their own, but couldn’t disagree more. I think you’re undervaluing what type of athlete Walker is. That and he hasn’t turned 21 yet. Yes, he has a lack of experience in general but I’m not sure what he CAN’T do on a football field. As a LB he has elite sideline to sideline chase and tackle ability and has the speed and athleticism to cover TE’s and RB’s. And his 1st step quickness off the edge is maybe beyond elite.

I’ve said it before, but if fit for a chess piece like Walker is an issue for your D coordinator then your D coordinator is the problem. I can definitely envision Walker being used like Fangio used Baun this year for the Eagles…except they aren’t even comparable as athletes

Oh he’s a great athlete for sure…but that doesn’t really change my opinion or concerns of him. And my concerns aren’t about how to use him it’s that he’s basically a tweener.

Just way too much risk for me.

Have to rewatch these DEs since Flus is the DC and they running Tampa 2 type defense. I'm looking for Dwight Freeny and Robert Mathis on 3rd down type terror. Cowboys will have stout vs the run DEs, but who can pair w/Micah as a DPR an make an impact.?

IMO, Walker can't really play LB at the next level. He's stiff compared to a guy like Jihad Campbell, who's athletic enough to do everything. Walker is a DE only. Very much reminds me of Nolan Smith with the Eagles, who plays 34 LB, but rarely is in coverage.

I’m high on Pierce because I think he has the frame to become an every down DE. He reminds me a lot of the Jaguars Josh Allen.

I wouldn’t mind Green at all either, but I think he’s strictly an EDGE and would be nice to pair with Micah.

At pick 12, I would probably favor Pierce over Green.

Man I liked Nolan way more…thought he was a better athlete and a looser pass rusher.
