Play calling

What's the over and under on the number of complaints in this thread that will actually be about play calling?

Well the run on first down is getting old but they are limited with Weeden and guys who can't catch or run the ball.

The organization has failed big time. You've got your team in a position where it is a CHALLENGE to complete a downfield pass after the injuries to 2 players. I'm sorry, Dez and Romo are obviously key players but what we're watching now is not acceptable regardless of the circumstance.

I'm more upset with play design than play calling. When you watch the Patriots pass offense every single route is designed and run with a specific purpose, then you watch our pass offense and its just 3 or 4 guys running in a straight line down the field.

I chuckled once when they ran on first and got nothing, and then went play-action on second and ten. This was, I believe when even Simms was like they need to mix things up...

They are playing run on first and you try and make the defense bite on second, when you got to go long?

Horrible play-calling..

It's still too predictable. They have to either crap or get off the pot with Weeden. Given him some less predictable play calling and if he makes ill advised throws and/or misses guys deep...then bench him. Even if Weeden was throwing the ball well, this type of predictable play calling...particularly on 1st down...just isn't going to rack up many points. You're basically dead in the water with this type of playcalling anyway...so mix things up a bit and see if maybe things get going that way and if they don't....yank Weeden out of there.

Run on first down, no pick plays for our doofus receiving core, trying to run the ball down 21 points, not even attempting to throw deep, when guys are in single coverage, not changing up protection into zone when it's obvious they are picking, the list goes on.
