Player acquisition is a 365 day practice, Jerry needs to find a NT/DT to stop the run & no 1 WR

You simply can’t trade for a WR in this market but NT is very obtainable IMO likely only costing a 4th-6th rounder.
I don’t a guy like Denzel Mims cost you more than a 5th.

I like Matt Ioannidis but I feel he is more of what we have a less of an upgrade.

Not true at all.

Eagles game, all but one of the big gainers were inside runs

That's only a 3.9 yard per carry average for Sanders, so it's not as if he killed the Cowboys

Overall the Eagles only averaged 3.5 yards per carry, so the Eagles running game as a whole isn't what killed the Cowboys either.

I said this yesterday and people on this board started to cry.

Lve is absolute garbage worse than Jaylon smith and our WR can’t create space .

We need a DT too because will McClay failed with John ridgeway .
This is kind of a bogus, narrative serving comment. 5th round and later draft picks are never sure things. No team is expected to pull out a gem every time with them.

I don’t
But that goes up for every team which also drives up the cost of players
Who is a DT that makes us a SB team is the question

But the Cowboys don’t pay market rate and they have plenty of rookie contracts to keep overall cap hit low vs other teams in the league. It’s not like they signed big contract free agents.

- Eddie Goldman: Atlanta
- Derrick Brown: Carolina
- A’shawn Robinson: Rams

Starlite Lotulelei Jr. is not currently employed...

The Eagles had two 70 + yard drives where they ran straight into the Cowboys defense with success and chewed up 15-20 mins of game clock. If your defense can’t create a three and out then it’s a issue.

If this defense truly wants to be elite it must acquire a Veta Vea type of NT/ DT than cure achilles hill of this defense. On the offense the front office needs to sign OBJ or trade for Lockett from Seattle.
Vita Vea or a #1 WR? Let me go down to the store and pick one up...

Stop already. DJ Moore earns $20M+/year so Dallas wouldn't pay that and Carolina isn't trading their 1st round DT.

Think more the following:

DT Larry Ogunjobi Pittsburgh
DE Clelin Ferrell Raiders
DE Robert Quinn Bears

Those are the types of players Dallas should be looking at for reasons of contract/performance/scheme fit.

We need run stoppers not pass rushers. Adding to what is already the best pass in the NFL doesn't improve the team. Ferrel and Quinn make no sense.

DJ Moore is 25 years old and an elite #1 WR. We paid Amari 20M why not him? Signing him would also mean we could trade CD or Gallup.

Those drives illustrate what many of us scream about here daily. That if you just stick with the run you can methodically move the ball down the field even if you never have a huge run. After all if you get 3 yards per carry three times in a row you have 4th and 1 which Philly also proved they could convert with relative ease. But doing that required two things.. the first is the patience to keep moving the ball this way and the second is the ability to stay away from penalties and negative plays. Our guys have gotten very few penalties on run plays and as long as don't run the stupid toss sweep which counts on Schultz to block the play side end we stay away from negative plays. The point is that I believe the Cowboys could use the exact same approach the Eagles used any time they want to.. Problem is.. they almost never seem to want to.

...and what are you trading to Carolina for Moore because it will take more than just a 1st round draft pick? As for the players I listed, Quinn is the only pass rusher as Ferrel is more of a run defender.
Oh, and what happens in Parsons, who already is nursing a groin injury, goes out for several games? The defense will crumble more than the offense when Dak went out.

I wonder what a dude like Brandon Cooks would cost if HOU sells? I’ve always been a fan of his game. Not sure he has the same elite speed he used to be he’s been a number 1 target over there for a few years now and has put up decent numbers with poor QB play. I’d prolly be open to a 3rd for him.

I’d love Brown as a DT but doubt CAR gives him up.

We have DLAW, Dante' Fowler, Dorrance Armstrong (whose having a pro bowl kind of season so far) and rookie 2nd rounder Sam Williams looks really good when he gets some snaps. Then we have Barr and Micah who are really hybrid LB/DEs. So, none the players you listed would even get on the field unless there was an injury.

We could land DJ Moore for a first and 3rd, IF Carolina is selling.

What about Daron Payne?

Tristen Hill and a pick for Payne?

All of our current DTs are in the low grades on PFF. Hill was never in favor in Dallas.

Payne would be way cheaper then Derrick Brown. And Payne is a monster up the middle

Thoughts

Danny Boy hates Uncle Jed now.

Noah Ellis - 6'4 360

He is currently on Reserve Non-Football Injury list but would love to steal him from Philly somehow.

I don’t

Ellis was waived injured
Was he resigned?
If not he’s a FA though he may still not be able to play
