What's the deal with Leftwhich these days? Could he be a backup to Romo consideration?

No mobility and takes too long to deliver the ball.....basically the opposite of Romo. :D

I bet he ends up in Washington. Long wind up like Campbell and better than Campbell too.

His prob is his delivery. Teams in the NFL blitz so much faster then they do in college. Collective speed. His release takes forever. He could be a good backup here though. He will want a chance to start though, and he'll need to look elsewhere.

Watch out for Minnesota to grab him.

I sure liked him. I'll never forget one poster saying we passed on the next Dan Marino though.

I remember those days. The back and forth over Newman, Suggs and Lefty. :(

I was the biggest Suggs shill ever.

I'm STUNNED that the Falcons cut Crumpler. Almost every player from the Vick era is gonna bite the dust.

The next Dan Marino? So someone was actually jinxing the poor guy with never having a real shot to win a Superbowl before he even got started? :)

One of the all time memories on this forum was when the Cowboys took Terence Newman. JDNalls, a big time advocate of Leftwich, blew up in the Chat room. I mean he went ballistic. One of the funniest metldowns ever.

I wonder what happened to JD? He was a very good guy.

Kool. Thanks everybody. I wasn't sure what the deal with him was or not. So basically he's the exact opposite of Romo with a slow release. Saw a thing on NFL Network where they actually timed Romo's release as faster than Marino, whom they were saying had one of the fastest releases of all time, if not the fastest. We need someone more in tune to Romo's style of play for this offense to not miss a beat if, god-forbid, something was to happen to him.

I heard Ty Law is getting cut. I think Dallas should bring him in to play free safety.

Maybe not THE biggest...
I bet I was CL. I was so into that kid that I went to ASU games just to see him and I can't stand them. I went to his 2nd Pro Day just to time him myself.

But did you refer to hm as Suggsy Wuggsy Woo Woo Kins? :D

Oh no you didn't.

Seems like every corner in the league, and even the ones in college, should move to FS for the Cowboys.

i am embarassed to say that was me...(or at least I was one who was convinced it was true)

I got caught up in the scouts who said he had a fast release like Marino (what the crud were they thinking????) - and after watching him in the NFL, I can't think of a guy with a slower release...whatever scout I read was an idiot. I believed him though, so I guess that makes me an idiot. But as it turns out, we ended up with the first Tony Romo, so I'll take that any day.:

Someone actually went on record as saying Byron had a fast release? You sure they weren't comparing his footspeed to Marino? That may have been more accurate.
