It looks like hiring MM with him choosing his staff (even though that is how it should be done) was not the right move either.
He was assigned coaches.

Just because McCarthy brought in most coaches, does not mean he chose his entire staff.

Just like every single HC Dallas has had since Jimmy. Even the great Parcells.

A guy known for calling plays being assigned a play caller should have been a giant red flag for you non-believers.

McCarthy was going to come in and maximize all of this “talent.”

If you don't change the high priced dumb players on the team, you can bring in Bellicheck or Parcells, and all they will do is complain about how hard these coaches and their schemes are.

McCarthy deserves his players, and not these cry babies!

Oh, I agree with you there.

But if MM brought in Nolan, then that was CLEARLY a mistake.

More noise from the entitled players. Coaches can’t help that the players take bad angles, suck at tackling, are always out of position, cant learn a system, and overall just show a lack of caring.
Let's be fair to our mogul linebacker Clear Eye View™. The man had several business meetings last week, closing deals with VIPs across the globe. This undoubtedly affected his preparation and effort level yesterday.

That's what happens when you put a second hand car salesman in charge of a football team.

Wow how good is Aaron Rodgers!?

All those winning seasons with a gash defense whilst his Head Coach was receiving back massages.

Incredible.

I'll just leave this article about the end of McCarthy's time in Green Bay here ... for those who doubt what the players are saying MIGHT have some validity

The problem is, Jerry will listen to these players and side with them. McCarthy won't last long.
That’s a good thing lol, this is about the only way we can get a better staff. I was a McCarthy supporter up until this game. Once you have 5 games in the row with identical gamescripts, there’s an issue that is not being corrected.

Once a coach loses the team he is no longer the coach. Bring in Lincoln Reilly or Urban Meyer and let them build a staff and culture and 2021 will go a whole lot smoother.

Big Mike looks like he spent more time eating the buffet than studying film during the “McCarthy Project.”

I do find it ironic and highly amusing that Jerry and Stephen appear to have been duped by McCarthy’s pr project from last year. Of course, I also get the impression that dumb and dumber don’t watch football outside of John Steohen’s games and the Cowboys.

If a young and upcoming pro assistant was out there or a hot college coach, these 2 buffoons couldn’t find him with a compass. They only are concerned about comfort or “name” coaches. Don’t have a clue on what makes a good coach and also have built the least desirable culture in pro football. Bravo, to these 2 bumpkins!

eeeek this is gonna be bad.

Jane has a point. No matter how bad it got during the Garret years I can't recall any players not buying in to what JG was preaching. Maybe TO when he complained to the media about Romo/Witten...other than that there were a few jabs from former players that had moved on but never from someone currently on the team.

It sounds like a divided locker room already and they all need to get on the same page or blow up the team and start fresh. Otherwise, if this type of crap is allowed to fester it is counter productive and will ruin everything you are trying to do as an organization.

Probably the Garrett Guys snitching because life isn't so easy like it used to be.

This is a dumb team...just shows you how bad things were under Garrett and Marinelli. They had a dumb team and instead of spending all those years teaching and developing, they ran a vanilla/pee-wee football scheme that may have looked better than this but still wasn't close to being good enough.

Now you're seeing players getting exposed for not knowing what to do on defense and constantly out of position. It's like in the office, you may have a department that constantly got by doing just the bare minimum every day for years. Clock in, clock out, put in your hours, and go home. Well now that there's a new boss who actually demands you to be good at your job, your work isn't so easy anymore.

Unfortunately, the Garrett residue will linger for a while. Excellent point about the lack of teaching and development by Garrett. I will go further: Do these holdover players from JG know about in game adjustments? Clock management? Winning the necessary games? Being successful in all three phases of the game? Tackling? Taking better angles (J. Smith--talking to you)? Learning how to adapt to the opponent? Game Preparedness?

Garrett is not here physically. But his mindset has been so ingrained in some of these players. Everyone is seeing the results on the field. Big Mike has his work cut out for him.
