2 Sacks were on Free sucking and 1 Sack was on Leary whiffing badly.

Zach was road graded a couple of times as well.

Free is a dope. ONE move from the opponent and he's breaking ankles. His technique stinks. He needs to keep a wide base and his legs under him. JMO, of course.

Yes, but with O coming back, and Sterling Moore beginning to make a splash, he'd better step it up or he's going to from starter to 4th on the depth chart. When O gets in game shape, he'll probably supplant Mo on the outside corner. And, I don't think Mo can play the slot better than Moore (Mo has small/weak ankles, which prevent him from re-directing w/o falling). Unless Dallas is ready to bring him in for the nickle, and move O to slot and let Mo play corner. That may work, but it would still be a drop to 3rd string.

Scandrick will rightly take his starting job back and move to slot on third down with Claiborne coming in for the outside spot. Moore will drop to fourth corner despite having a really good day Sunday.

Claiborne also had a good day, which is one reason Locker kept targeting the tight end. He just wasn't getting much against the corners.

The Beard also was beaten on a stunt by the guy who earlier beat Free and also apparently had a good game last week.

#1 Tony Romo - Biggest Romo fan/defender here, but he needs to start playing better and soon. I was disappointed the hear that his back was really affecting him after the first game, and I'm sure with the hits he took the second game was no different.

#2 Offensive line - They are run blocking pretty well, but their pass blocking is leaving a lot to be desired. They absolutely need to step up. I was one of the most vocal supporters of the concept of drafting high for offensive line, but they seem to have drafted players predominantly capable of run blocking as opposed to pass blocking. It's working for now, but when we play teams with legitimate quarterbacks, we're going to need our passing game to keep up.

#3 Morris Claiborne - The guy just sucks, sorry. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in a player who has played for the Cowboys after having such high hopes. Only player that comes to mind is Drew Henson and I still think Parcells set him up to fail.

#4 Pass rush - It's been non existent so far. The good news is Spencer is supposed to return soon, so at least we can see what he has to offer. I hope DeMarcus Lawrence can return to form when he is eligible. I also think that it is time to see what Michael Sam can offer this defensive line. QBs are getting all day against us.

#5 Safeties - Our inability to stop the tight end is unacceptable, and yes, I know this is a problem that most teams in the NFL are probably having, but Delanie Walker shredded us Sunday, and Vernon Davis did last week. Marinelli needs to figure something out here.

At this rate the Saints are going to destroy us. We have a lot of winnable games on our schedule. And if not for Romo we're 2-0 right now. There are a lot of reasons to be excited about this season still, but we need to see some things change pretty soon, otherwise this is going to be a long and unfortunate season. We should be able to win at least 7 of our next 9 games.

The major pass blocking problems were with Doug Free, not any of the drafted "run blockers", Fred did miss on a stunt. Claiborne had on of his best game besides a missed tackle on a 6'5 260lb TE.

I agree with most of your assessment but some of the details need to be cleaned up.

I don't have all the facts but I think T. Williams can play a bigger role, not just Romo.

Maybe. I personally think Terrance MAY not be a #2 in this league YET. I really wish Miles could've stayed healthy because I think Terrance needs one more year to get ready for that #2 role. I just can't trust him and his chest catches.

EVERYONE can play better. I hope that is how the team is working. The better each part gets, there is an exponential increase to the group as a whole. This team cannot afford to rest on their laurels, they need to maintain the us against the world attitude. The clippings calling them the worst team in the league need to be posted on their mirrors so they don't forget.

Doug Free.

He's a lost cause. Don't expect anything from him. No idea why we ever brought him back.

And Witten has to be the most awkward player I see in the NFL with the ball in his hands. Wish we had a much more athletic TE for this offense.

Agree.
Post game interviews, every player said...we made mistakes, we will clean them up, we need to get better type of comments. Not one player, that I seen acted like, see what we can do when we play well....all said they need to improve....

I don't get people saying that X player is a bust in their first 2 or 3 years. There are a variety of reasons. But if a player isn't seleceted, or that pick used for a pet cat, then people say X player is a bust, because they don't agree with the selection as it did not go the way they wanted...there is a reason why some of us posts..and some people coach..LOL

Alright well if you're fine with watching the TE destroy us two weeks in a row then that's your prerogative. Our safeties might not be able to stop it, but we should at least bring it up in discussion and hopefully the coaches are doing something to fix it, not just saying oh other teams aren't covering TE's either so we're Ok. Locker missed some wide open recievers and could have had a much bigger day. Let's see what happens when we play the Saints, because I guarantee that what we're doing on defense now will not work against them

Destroy? If im not mistaken Dallas won by 16 this week. And Davis had alot of empty yards after the first quarter and Romo's gifts to the niner defense. But you go ahead with your Dallas is doomed tantrum.Ill enjoy watching the team and theyre improvements.

Ok maybe not destroyed but we've been torched pretty bad by a couple TE's. The OP suggested that our safeties play better, and you give them a pass saying that it's happening to other teams as well so who cares. You pass off a major defensive deficiency as no big deal, and then say you're looking forward to watching the team get better. We'll see how much on a non-issue it is for you when we play the Saints.
