Lots of the guys listed in that other thread. Guys where people harp on what they can't do instead of focusing and appreciating what they can do. Guys who work hard and do their jobs even if they're not what we'd hoped and dreamed on.
Tank.
LVE.
Tyron.
Etc.

Thank you sir for the opposite of the negative thread you are referring to. My guy is LVE. The guy has come alive under Dan Quinn’s tutelage. It all came together for him about mid-way last year when he turned it on. Hoping he has a healthy and productive season.
Hey, we agree on something!

LVE was maligned all season by some but when he went out the defense started getting gashed. He does make a real difference although he’ll never again be the player he once was because of injuries

Tank I get because he seems to go AWOL on the biggest stages but Tyron and LVE issues have been mainly due to injuries

No its not disrespectful, we are talking $$ and contracts, not how we feel about him, ZM is held in HIgh regard as payer and human but contracts and hold outs can be judged in very different way,

jeez theres is huge difference. if you can't see it then you shouldn't be posting on this thread..
I can tell the difference between the ones saying no let him get his fines for missing and the ones saying trade him because hes 33. Yes i know some troll but i been here long enough to know who the trolls are and who legit think this way.

So far, I see Brooks and Cropper making strong cases for themselves in practice. Brooks, like I expected, sort of just took the bull by the horns and jumped right in. Cropper seems to be silently making noise, but that's his style. He's rather subtle until he isn't.

The difference I see is that players like Turpin, Fehoko, James Houston might be better fits for the old offense. But Cropper and Brooks seem like better fits for an X/Slot role in a WCO.

Ferguson

Shoulda rolled with him as the starter instead of spending a 2nd on another TE.

As a rookie he was comparable to Franchise TE Schulz. Of course, Schulz didn't live up to the tag, but that Ferguson was already at that level as a rookie projects to a very good starting TE through his rookie contract.
You completely miss the point over why they drafted Schoonmaker. It was NOT to replace Ferguson. It was so that they had another good TE so they could play lots of multiple TE formations to help the run game and the passing game. They also wanted a TE that was a high end blocker and good in the pass game. Which Schoonmaker is supposed to be.

Just a shame his rookie season has been hampered by missing all of the offseason work.

So, there is a thread for players who "don't do it for you". So, naturally, let's do the opposite here. Who is a player or who are players that do not get nearly enough attention or recognition for their abilities?

I'd start with Brad Anger. Special teams is important. Not every drive is going to result in points. It'd be nice, but that's not possible in the NFL. So, having a top punter is key to flip field position and give our defence more room to use. Brad Anger does this very well.
The #1 guy that gets no love on this forum that deserves a lot more is Biadasz and its not even close.

Just go ahead and close down the thread, its over.

Biadasz was bashed by 99% of the fanbase in both his rookie and 2nd year while only 3 or 4 of us actually saw the talent in the kid. In his 3rd season he makes the pro bowl and doesnt give up a sack on the season.

Coming in a close 2nd place is Tony Pollard. With all the Zeke apologists out there he gets undo hate. I guess they hate Pollard for making their hero Zeke look like the chump he was. Cant fault a guy for just being better.

Turpin.. some want to hate on him. This is his first full offseason. He should handle all the return duties again and see plenty of opportunities on offense.

LVE is borderline here. There isnt anything he does well that we should really like him for. The problem is we dont have anyone better so we kinda have to appreciate that. However, I have a feeling that Clark is going to change that narrative this season.
That's definitely the issue with LVE. Not much at the LB position YET so the excitement level for LVE is more than it should be. I think with a much improved Dline he will be good this year, but I also think there are a few young LBs who could take that next step. Is there a true MLB who can challenge him at this point? not really.

Well we dont have any other MLBers on the roster. NO one to challenge him. I agree the linebackers have a better year with the Dline improvements.

Soooo many dudes on defense.

DLaw. I sort of see him as a fan IQ test. If you think he's trash, you're probably not watching him.

LVE. Our defense last year was starkly different with and without him. He almost made a Sean Lee level of impact.

Da'Ron Bland. If he was a 1st round pick, his hype train would be off the rails right now. What he did as a rook was fantastic.

Malik Hooker. He rarely gets tested in the Cowboys' man-heavy, single high defense. Heck, he's rarely even shown on the TV screen. But he's a vital piece to what we do. Dono and Kearse are free to step down and torpedo dudes in the box because Hooker can cover so much ground on the back end.

I'm amazed we got Bland as late as well did. He was spectacular. Malik Hooker has been fantastic too. I think LVE is very similar to Sean Lee in a lot of ways. When healthy, he's one of the smartest players on the field. He's always where the ball is. As for DLaw, he is a very solid player.
