I think Pollard deserves more love. Played behind a loser that got paid way too much money. All he did was make play after play last year. Season ended when he got hurt. Guy is a player.

Trent Sieg

The Cowboys lost their deep snapper, Jake McQuaide, to Detroit via free agency.

Try to imagine the Cowboys unable to acquire a veteran deep snapper and forced to select one from the current roster.

Perhaps they decide to try out a few rookie free agents and let competition decide. Then their very first official deep snap would take place on national TV in regular season game #1 against the Giants.

Wouldn't that be exciting?

Excitement is the last thing we should want from a deep snapper. The Cowboys signed Trent Sieg, a five year veteran and former Raider. The Raiders hired a new special teams coach from the Broncos and he wanted his former deep snapper.

Fans typically take this position for granted....until they do something wrong. For them, that is their only form of recognition. As a rule, the average NFL fans usually doesn't know the name of their deep snapper. If they do, then that is a bad thing.

Not here, though. We are not "average" fans, right?

So here's to you, undrafted, unknown, five-plays-a-game, deep snapper man.

Are we talking underappreciated or deserving more recognition by the fan base? Because I got one of each.

Underappreciated
Micheal Gallup
Dude shreds a knee in week 17 after dealing with a calf injury early that year. An ACL usually takes a year, sometime two to fully heal, and he came back in 8 months, plays all year CLEARLY not at 100%; and people are hating on him for it. I don't know how many of you have ever had a problem with your calf, but I have. Even just a small cramp and I can't walk correctly for a week. I can't imagine running, cutting, and jumping with any type of calf injury. And they take FOREVER to heal too.

Deserving more recognition/love
Tyler Biadasz
Someone got to this one before I did, but he was my first thought when reading the thread title. Dudes only sin is that he isn't Fredbeard. But he has always been, at WORST, decent. And he has been getting visibly better each year. He has grown into something more than just "decent". He's pretty good now. Just still not Travis Frederick level. But few are. Just stop pretending that he is Phil Costa or Al Johnson. He isn't THAT either.

Maybe he'd get more love if his name was correct. It's Bryan Anger.

Of course, the fact that you spelled his name wrong probably shows he needs more love.
Kickers deserve no love,, set down at the end of the bench and just do what you are supposed to do.
Nobody loves you, just understand that and be great while you can.

Huh? Kickers are a vital part of the team. A lot of times, the game can be determined based on the kicker. So, to me (plus, I was a kicker in HS), kickers deserve love like any other player.

So, there is a thread for players who "don't do it for you". So, naturally, let's do the opposite here. Who is a player or who are players that do not get nearly enough attention or recognition for their abilities?

I'd start with Brad Anger. Special teams is important. Not every drive is going to result in points. It'd be nice, but that's not possible in the NFL. So, having a top punter is key to flip field position and give our defence more room to use. Brad Anger does this very well.
I agree, but fans typically dont respect or care about punters. They dont score or do any cool things.

The problem may not be Bingo Anger, it's that fans hate seeing Their punter take the field, no matter how good He is.
