Next week's game against Philadelphia is not a must-win game. It would be a good game for us to win, especially considering that it's on the road against our main rival for the division. However, the Eagles have a tough slate of games, starting with us and then ending with us. It is likely our home game against them will be must-win, but this week isn't ... unless, of course, the Eagles don't lose any more games this year. If that's the case, though, it probably wouldn't matter if we beat them twice unless someone here thinks we're not going to lose another game this year. This season is a long way from being decided. Who would have thunk that after thumping us the 49ers would lose their next three?

When ever you are trailing a team in the standings and you are playing them. It is pretty much a must win.

I get what you are saying. But we do not want to be 2 games down and really 3 since it is a head to head game.
We could lose on the road, the Eagles lose one of their gauntlet of games against KC, Buffalo and San Fran and then we win at home against Philly and suddenly we're tied for the division lead. I want us to win every game, especially in the division, but this is far from being must-win territory. It's be-good-to-win territory.

Let me rephrase….it is a must win so this forum is not in meltdown mode until Dallas does take over the division. :lmao2:

Well it does always seem to be in a melt down mode anyway. :muttley:

because they lost to the Cardinals it kind of is. Instead of being able to split the series The Boys have to win both.

We could run the table, but if we don’t make the NFCCG, there’ll be a meltdown.

We don't know that because we have no idea how the rest of the games will turn out. We could lose this one, Philly loses to two of KC, Buffalo and San Fran and then we beat them and we've got three losses to their four. Who knows how it is going to all turn out?

It kind of is if Dallas wants to host a couple of playoff games.
Not really, although I have to acknowledge that it could be depending on what happens in all those games remaining, but some of those games remaining are likely the must-wins, again unless the Eagles only lose one more game this season.

Look at the next 4 games for the Cowboys, then look at the next 4 for the Eagles and SF. If you're serious about taking control of the division and getting the inside track to homefield advantage in the playoffs, its absolutely a must win game. Our next 3 opponents after Philly have a combined record of 6-18. 16-8 for the Eagles opponents, and 14-8 for the 49ers..we're staring at a golden opportunity and we need to play like it.

This game isn’t a must win

Now that we have that out of the way..it’s a game for them to prove they can beat Philly in Philly if necessary come January. Not only that, it’s a game to prove they can hang with Philly in general.

If Dallas gets thumped like they got thumped at SF..trust me, it will linger the entitle season even if they beat Philly in Dallas but don’t win the division …bc they’ll have to do it in Philly to win the nfc

Yes, but we don't know whether Dallas will win the division even if it loses in Philly. Homefield is not off the table even if we lose this game.

Correct. It’s unlikely Dallas will win the division if they lose though. Dallas schedule is probably harder than phillys the rest of the season. And they will be 2.5 back. But I agree, it’s not a must win. As I stated.
