The Cardinals would be 0-8 without Dallas visit . That’s a loss end of yr could come back to haunt if the Eagles don’t cooperate . No time like next week to get that 2nd Eagle loss .

We don't know that because we have no idea how the rest of the games will turn out. We could lose this one, Philly loses to two of KC, Buffalo and San Fran and then we beat them and we've got three losses to their four. Who knows how it is going to all turn out?
Based on their most recent efforts how confident are you in KC and SF beating the Eagles? And the Bills and Niners are home games for Philly. How about this upcoming game is a “must win” for Dallas as the Cowboys have two conference losses, the Eagles don’t have one, yet.

It isn't "technically" but it is psycholigically and from a "change the narrative" standpoint especially considering what happened in SF. Yes, philly has a tough schedule but WE have a say in that and at some point we can't rely on other teams and stay in chase mode. 8-1 vs 5-3 would be tough. We have to take advantage of this SF slump and make a move in the conference.
The Cowboys are 5-2 vs. opponents with a collective winning percentage of .370. The Eagles are 7-1 vs. opponents with a collective winning percentage of .452. It is time to beat good teams.

If you need to worry about final standing and what seed you get in the playoffs, then your team probably didn't deserve to be there anyway. When you get to the playoffs you get what you are given and if you can't win because the conditions weren't right then you weren't the best team to begin with. What good is it to get the best final standings in the regular season because your team plays good regular season football but then aren't able to take advantage of the spot you were given because you aren't a good playoff team? Worry more about being able to produce once you get there than what spot you get in the playoffs.
When you get to the playoffs you get what you’ve earned. All this mumbo jumbo about seeding doesn’t matter is because people don’t want to put expectations on this football team.

Have no idea. We don't even know what any of these teams will look like at that point.

Look at the next 4 games for the Cowboys, then look at the next 4 for the Eagles and SF. If you're serious about taking control of the division and getting the inside track to homefield advantage in the playoffs, its absolutely a must win game. Our next 3 opponents after Philly have a combined record of 6-18. 16-8 for the Eagles opponents, and 14-8 for the 49ers..we're staring at a golden opportunity and we need to play like it.

Yes I agree, we need to take advantage of this opportunity.

We beat Philly and we become the #1 seed. There is a long ways to go, but it's a start.

Must win games are games that dictate whether or not you actually make the playoffs.

So, this isn't a must win game.

But we really really want to win this one, as if it were a must win game.
I think this is part of the problem. Some fans have redefined must-win, most likely based on our playoff failures. The term has always meant exactly what you said, that the game in question decides whether your team makes the playoffs or not. Some have come to define it as meaning whether our team loses in the playoffs because it didn't get home-field advantage. The outcome seems to be predetermined if we don't win the division or get the No. 1 seed, so they no longer look at must-win the way it is intended. They look at making the playoffs as an afterthought, almost like it's guaranteed. Obviously, winning the division and the top seed makes the path through the playoffs easier, so we really, really want to win this one, but unless we are changing the definition, it is not a must-win.

Next week's game against Philadelphia is not a must-win game. It would be a good game for us to win, especially considering that it's on the road against our main rival for the division. However, the Eagles have a tough slate of games, starting with us and then ending with us. It is likely our home game against them will be must-win, but this week isn't ... unless, of course, the Eagles don't lose any more games this year. If that's the case, though, it probably wouldn't matter if we beat them twice unless someone here thinks we're not going to lose another game this year. This season is a long way from being decided. Who would have thunk that after thumping us the 49ers would lose their next three?
It is a must win for them... Their schedule is insane after their bye week. That is why if we can win in their house it is huge.

They are 7-1, so I don't think they would see it as a must-win. It would give them a leg up on winning the division and home-field advantage.

IMO, and maybe I am biased, I see them losing in Dallas, In KC, and Maybe even in Seatle (hard place to win for road teams). I also see them splitting Bill and Niners at home... they have a hard time covering running quarterbacks. With all that being said... I think they should view this game as a must win.

And honestly if we steal this road win and win at home in a few weeks, we are set to own the division. Again just my humble opinion..

Even if we lose next week, we are fine. Its a marathon guys. Lets understand how fast things can change in this league, peaks and valleys. Ebs and flows. Then the injury factor. Hurts is limping around and we are just about at the halfway mark. Just think what might happen later...as we go. Yes, they might win bragging rights next week...maybe they will, maybe they wont. But I would say, lets just wait and see where things shake out. U never know. We are getting healthy, and THEY aren't. Jalen Carter is hurt 2. Did they peak 2 quick? Because I dunno that Hurts can play any better than he has. I can assure u guys, The Eagles are a bit concerned , with us coming to town on the heels of a blowout of a decent Rams team.

Nothing is ever a must win. Things happen.

But sure does drop our chances of winning a Super Bowl if we lose. And I assume that is what we all want --- players, coaches and fans.

It's even more priority because of the SF 49ers flop, and with Philly being in the NFC East and only team with a better record.

I'm fine with a fan not realizing how big a game this is, but I sure as hell hope the players and coaches don't feel that way.

"Must win games" are mostly a fan thing. If there are any "must win" games, you won't know that they even were until later in the season. Sometimes early season losses come back to haunt you, sometimes they don't.

Calling every game a "must win" game is silly stuff.
