the Cowboys aren't indian givers, sorry 'hawk fan

btw, to be fair, Julius was running hard last year, unfortunately, it was always in a straight-line, and will probably be the same way in Seattle

Unless JJ is playing against Seattle, he is better suited as a second back that could offer a good change of pace. The problem is that he has not yet accepted this.

I was really excited when J. Jones came to Seattle. I understand that it is only preseason but golly...we have rookies in our running game that play like they are mad at the world.... J. Jones...not so much. Always been like that?

In my opinion JJ is a dedicated player who works hard, I also think he runs hard. I think he lacks vision and rarely is able to break arm tackles.

I can't tell you the how many times I saw Julius get to the second level with a wide open cut back lane only to run straight into a blockers back and be dragged down by someone in the pile. I use to jump and yell at my TV "outside outside" and then set back down after another 2 or 3 yard gain.

I do think he's a quality person and a good athlete, someone who will consistently get 1000 yards. But having witnessed Emmitt's entire career Cowboy fans know what a running back with vision can do, IMO its Julius's biggest weakness.

The JJ paradox: The more carries he gets, the higher the odds he'll get that one long run to boost his average, but the worse his average will be for all the other runs.

Pretty much. It's almost like he sleeps during the play at times.

As a rookie he was different. Ran with passion. Not so much since that year.

No on taking him back.

Teams figured him out and he wasn't good enough to adjust. Simple as that.

And Jennie, get word to the Seahawks OL that they need to wear lots of padding on their lower back... with JuJo running the ball, they're gonna need it.

Pretty funny! I had an argument 3 weeks with a Seahawks fan about how we just didnt use JJ right and how he never got a fair shake in Dallas.

He has since changed his tune and now agrees with me. I am amazed the Hawks couldnt see he was a bust just by watching tape of him play.

No, we will not take back Julius Jones. Sorry, but you're now stuck with Julius Jones, and we are happy with our running back situation now. I'm glad he's your problem now.:)

I am hoping that when we go to Buffalo he will have a better showing. Of course the coaching staff is splitting time between Jones and Morris but what we did see during preseason was ok, not great. We do have a conservitive way of playing but like I said others were playing like they were angry and he just was a little soft for me. Hopefully it was just a matter of it being preseason...if not when we go there for Thanksgiving I will encourage Mike to leave him there...at least he will know where to go get a room and dinner.

Don't know who you're going to get. He reminded me of a slightly slower and less wiggle version of Tony Dorsett year one. After that I can't tell you who he looked like. Sometimes you could see the passion in the run. Most of the time not.

He's not a bad back just not a great or elite one. I'd like to see what he can do in a different offense before saying he's good or not. I hope your OC uses him in space and not as much up the middle.

so... where are all the JJ apologists now? I was jumped on so many times a few years ago when I noticed how horrible JJ was now it seems like everyone knew it from the beginning.

I was also adament (sp?) about how much JuJo was "eh", but is the chest thumping really necessary?

First off, I'll always feel comfortable talking football with this fan because this fan is not biased. Anyhow, Jones his rookie year and even for the first half of his second year was better than angry running the ball. Barber is angry when he run's the ball, that's angry. Jones was outright dynamic, explosive, uncontainable, just exceptionally gifted his first year. Not that he was, but people were mentioning Barry Sanders when he made plays. He's a 1 hit wonder, good kid, classy kid but a 1 hit wonder in this game that I could never even be an ever wonder in. Play those draft picks, he won't teach them squat because he never learned squat after that rookie breakout and injury. Please come by anytime, you're a real football fan.

P.S - Jones had more than vision, he had instincts, not anymore. Vision can be taught through studying at the RB position, instincts can't at any.
