Pretty insensitive...

Call yourself lucky to, assumingly, never had a close person get breast cancer or even die of it.

Have some class and delete this

hardly insensitive. It is actually VERY insensitive to blast breast cancer all over the nfl when there are people dying from tons of other forms of cancer every day.

Wheres the nfl's lukemia month? or lung cancer, or liver cancer, or prostate cancer, or lymph node cancer month? no where.

Its rude to all those people suffering to elevate one style of cancer over theirs. Very rude.

I don't have a problem with it but I lean more towards the side that think it's excessive to do it for a month.

BTW, I think you can still hate cancer and hate see'ing pink at the same time.

Just like the ALS ice bucket challenge thing. That was more about people wanting attention for themselves then it was anything else.

Well to be fair, the money raised goes to cancer research not just towards breast cancer.... it's just that as far as I know, those other forms of cancer don't have the trendy "pink" thing attached to them so they don't get this whole special treatment.

I wish they didn't wear the pink stuff for an entire month, I'm all for raising money for cancer research... my grandfather died of cancer, but seeing these teams for a quarter of a season wearing pink on both sides of the ball is a bit much. Make it one weekend and have every player participate and then just do the other awareness stuff for the rest of the month.

NFL scales down pink apparel for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Sep 30, 12:38 PM

The NFL plans on packing in some of its pink merchandise this October.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and for the last five years the NFL has partnered with the American Cancer Society to raise awareness about the deadly cancer by showering its players in pink apparel and selling that pink merchandise in stores. However, the NFL isn't planning on the large-scale pink push it used to in years past. Paul Lukas of ESPN.com and Uni-watch.com participated in a New York Univerisity business panel with an unnamed buyer -- Mr. Buyer, as he is referred to -- of a well-known sporting goods store. He outlined the details of the NFL's pink dial back on his website.

One of the other panelists was the buyer for a well-known chain of sporting goods stores — let’s call him Mr. Buyer — and he had some very interesting things to say, chief among them the news that the NFL will be dialing back the throttle a bit this year on Pinktober. This has nothing to do with the recent domestic violence issues that have been in the news — Mr. Buyer said the league had already planned to soft-pedal the pink months ago. There’ll still be some pink, but not as much. It won’t be used for any nationally televised games, for example.

Though "Mr. Buyer" said the scale-back of pink isn't a result of the NFL's recent domestic violence issues, one of the league's biggest sponsors of the October Breast Cancer Awareness month, Procter & Gamble, withdrew its association with the NFL after the series of scandals unfolded last month.

Lukas said the NFL will instead heavily push their "camouflage" initiative in November, though the details on how that might appear on the field and in merchandise stores aren't clear.

So. We're tired of the force feeding of pink month...................

Let's beat it to death with a thread. Brilliant.

There will be but not as much, much of the attire will be optional to players. I'm sure we will see the pink towels but things like shoes, mouth piece and other items will be up to each player
