Pretty insensitive...

Call yourself lucky to, assumingly, never had a close person get breast cancer or even die of it.

Have some class and delete this

Seriously. I think this thread is terrible I had a close family friend pass from breast cancer. I like the pink clothing. Makes people notice more

hardly insensitive. It is actually VERY insensitive to blast breast cancer all over the nfl when there are people dying from tons of other forms of cancer every day.

Wheres the nfl's lukemia month? or lung cancer, or liver cancer, or prostate cancer, or lymph node cancer month? no where.

Its rude to all those people suffering to elevate one style of cancer over theirs. Very rude.

you could start an organization to advocate for those rather than pissing on another organization who chose to advocate for another

I don't mind the pink either but I think they got the point across. Our whole nation is aware of this and it is time to focus on another disease IMO. IF most of the money went directly to research, then I would hope they continue the trend for breast cancer.

What has happened to this country? It seems like you cant even fart nowadays without angering the PC crowd. I do agree that we should be tolerant but it seems like people take things to the extreme. The guy simply stated he didnt like the pink uniforms and he is entitled to his opinion. I dont think he meant to come off as insensitive on the cancer issue.

Well to be fair, the money raised goes to cancer research not just towards breast cancer.... it's just that as far as I know, those other forms of cancer don't have the trendy "pink" thing attached to them so they don't get this whole special treatment.

I wish they didn't wear the pink stuff for an entire month, I'm all for raising money for cancer research... my grandfather died of cancer, but seeing these teams for a quarter of a season wearing pink on both sides of the ball is a bit much. Make it one weekend and have every player participate and then just do the other awareness stuff for the rest of the month.

I wouldn't normally mind the pink jerseys but it's really just a cash grab for the league. There was an article claiming only small fraction of the pink jersey sales goes to cancer research. The other 97% goes into the owners and leagues pockets. Just a way to get fans to rebuy jerseys they already have. It's the disguised greed I hate about the pink jerseys and they just remind me of that. And I've had cancer.

I'd prefer they not make this an issue and not wear pink. Just play football and keep it football.

I see all sides to this argument. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. If someone doesn't like the pink attire being incorporated to the NFL for Breast Cancer Awareness I understand for various reasons.

I lost my 18 year old brother to a cancer I never heard of that pretty much wrecked our whole family's lives. His was considered a "childhood cancer". I'm pretty sure they know a good deal more and are farther advanced in how to fight and one day cure Breast Cancer than they do most childhood cancers. That doesn't matter though as all cancers need all of our thoughts, prayers and money to fight just as equally. If they are going to make a big deal about fighting cancer then I believe they should think about cancer as a whole, all cancer, instead of just Breast cancer. September was Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Why didn't they wear gold last month in honor of that?

I don't normally agree with all of the theatrics that the NFL is engaged in, especially now that Roger Goodell is in charge. I don't think that the NFL should force any player to wear anything that they don't want, and it looks like they are scaling the pink back this year and are letting players choose for themselves. If they want to express themselves and wear it then that's their right and they are entitled to freedom of expression.

Ultimately, I think it's a good thing for money to be raised through as many platforms as possible. I guess the reason I am against the pink during the games is because they seemingly fail to mention the vast other forms of cancers that exists and also the fact that Sundays are for football and it's hard enough for me to watch already without my brother, if that makes sense.

It's the month of players wearing it that I kinda don't like.

You can say that's insensitive but you could also say that the NFL is insensitive for only doing it for 1 month.

You could say everyone you work with is insensitive for not wearing it everyday.

It's just a little extreme with 1 month of it imo..

Also, do we ever see any results from all of this research or are we just going to keep donating billions of dollars as a society and be happy with no results?

Cancer research, to me, is starting to feel like a way to scam a lot of good hearted people.

For those interested, they should check out the documentary called "Pink Ribbons Inc". Pretty interesting stuff.

The NFL's breast cancer campaign is a greedy PR stunt designed to benefit wealthy corporations while paying lip service to people with breast cancer. It's also completely overdone, and as a fan, I'd rather see our team's color scheme and not pink.

I don't see how this opinion is "insensitive" or classless."

As most of you know , three months ago my wife was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. This year the pink is personal..The financial stress we are under is crippling. Every dollar raised helps people like us in one way or another. This does nothing but raise more awareness for this ugly disease. If you don't like it switch your TV to black and white...:)
