Leaving ours out for a change, there are some QB stories that Im curious about this year.
here are a few…in no particular order

  1. Watson first full year back. Will he return to pre-suspension form?
  2. Rodgers on a pretty talented Jets team
  3. Lawrence. Will he continue his trajectory from the 2nd half of 2022?
  4. Carr might be on the best all-around team in his career in New Orleans
  5. Lamar. Two weak seasons in a row, can the former MVP right ship?
  6. Brock Purdy. A flash in pan?
  7. Hurts. Will DCs adjust or was 2022 for real?

Thoughts?
Any others?
Jordan Love GB

Trey Lance Trade?

Jimmy G. Raiders

Hurts, Fluke?

Hendon Hooker injury timeliness.
- He's more talented than Hurts...

Deshaun Watson wasn’t winning a lot of games when he was in Houston. All the issues he went through including the suspension has eroded his game. Cleveland will regret ever making that deal for him if they haven’t already started to.

J-Love looked spectacular in practice today. Best day so far of camp. Pads go on Monday!

The defense is normally ahead of the offense this time of year, and that is the case right now, but I've been to training camp every year it was open(Non Covid) for the past 38 years and I can say that this is the best early camp I've seen since like 1996. A different energy at camp. In the crowd as well. I have seen tons of J-Love jerseys this camp. I've had mine autographed, framed, and up on the wall in the music/sports cave since July of 2020. It's right next to the framed jerseys of Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre, Don Majkowski, Lynn Dickey, and Bart Starr.

Can't wait for Monday in pads!

Didn't make my initial list of 7. And there are others mentioned in the threadthat are intriquing, but with any protection, Im expecting Stafford to rebound.
He was hurt all preseason last year and the offense seemed to all get hurt soon after.

Sam Howell--if he is just average, I think the Giants end up last in our division.

Yeah, only NFL Films called them that in 1978 because they made a video of every team and had to title all of them. Cool story though.

I have NEVER heard anyone else call them that other than Cowboys fans.

Too funny! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.:D
You too, I was just messing with you.
Thanks for being a good sport !

The hate is strong for a player going into his first season as a starter. Nice try at attempting to put pressure on J-Love. Too funny!:D

If you want a player that is going into his do or die season? That would be Justin Fields. He has started for 2 seasons now and the results have not been great. You can use your "put up or shut up" on him.

Thanks for the chuckle though. Your are obviously panicked that J-Love may show that he is superior to your precious Dak Prescott.

Going to be a very fun season. Can't wait for week 1 in Chicago.

Wow, really have zero emotional attachments to it. But I see you are super insecure about it.

Waston's 2nd and 3rd season as the starter:
2018 - Texans went 11-5, won AFC South, in the playoffs
2019 - Texans went 10-6, won AFC South, ln the playoffs

2020 season was the year the ownership, FO, and HC situation was a clusterf*** (trading away / letting quality players leave via FA) - the team collapsed.
Despite the 4-12 record, Watson still had an oustanding season as QB.

He was 4-12 his final season in Houston. He’s only three games above 500 and has a 1-2 playoff record. You give up three first round picks for Patrick Mahomes, not Deshaun Watson. Cleveland was stupid enough to guarantee his entire contract.

See my post before yours; the franchise leadership made bad decisions that led to the downfall in 2020.
You stated the Texans were not winning a lot of games with Waston as QB -
2018 and 2019 prove that statement incorrect.

Winning games isn’t being only three games over 500 at least not in my book. Winning games isn’t being 4-12. Winning games isn’t being 1-2 in the playoffs.

Watson only started 6 games his rookie season (3-3 record) before being injured and missing the rest of the year.
His remaining 3 seasons he was outstanding-- his team was good in support of him the first two..then imploded his final season.
I believe he and the Browns will have a winning season in 2023.

He put up a ton of yards is final season in Houston and it only led to 4 wins. They got behind in games and he put up a ton of garbage yards. He was 3-3 last year with Cleveland. He’s going to have to do a lot more than have winning seasons for that trade to payoff for the Browns. I don’t believe he’ll ever live up to what they gave up to get him.

Our opinions differ on Watson.
We will see how it unfolds starting in September.

No, you wrote that it's "put up or shut up time" for Jordan Love when it's his first season starting. That makes no sense whatsoever.

Justin Fields is going into his 3rd season starting and he has not looked good in his two seasons starting. This is a do or die season for Justin. Your "put up or shut up time" would be more accurate being attached to Justin Fields.

The end.

1. Top 10 qb

2. Jets will compete with Bills and Dolphins but ultimately Bills win the division. Jets are the 4 seed.

3. Lawrence will show out and be a top 5 qb

4. Carr will have a solid year, and pop at times, showing he was obviously not the Raiders problem

5. Yes d coordinators will clamp him down at times, but he will still have a nice season. I do expect regression. 1000% BIASED TAKE THOUGH.
