A lot of you guys must have either a) never watched Woodson play, b) only seen Polamalu ESPN highlights, or c) a combination of both.

Anybody saying Polamalu is better - I wish I had film of Woodson. It's not close. At all.

The best safety is Woodson and yes I am a Die Hard Cowboys fan, and by the way Darn proud of it !

There's a a lot of safeties who cover slot receivers better than Polamalu just like there were a lot of corners who could tackle a lot better than Deion but did that make them better players? Woodson's ability to cover slot receivers better than Polamalu didn't make him a better player than Polamalu. There's fighters that punched harder and had more knockouts than Ali big deal! Every safety has something they do better than another but players are judged by how many plays they made and their accomplishments. Polamalu had more tackles, FF's and int's than Woodson.

He accomplished night and day more than Woodson accomplished which is why he's receiving the accolades he is and is being ranked by every knowledgeable football expert as one of the greatest safeties to ever play the game and a first ballot lock for the HOF. Most have Polamalu in the top 5-7 greatest safeties to ever play the position. Some of you need to accept it instead of sitting around looking for ways to make yourselves look foolish by tearing down the game of one of the greatest players ever at their position.

Some of you should be embarrassed by some of the ridiculous comments that have been posted. It's like some here are on a mission to lose as much credibility as possible. Even Woody would chuckle at some of the comments being made. He would be flattered but he knows how delusional diehard Cowboy FANS are. lol

Someone is P-Owning folks up in here.

Uh, I like you watched almost every game the Cowboys played in in the 90s, which would cover most of Woodson's career.
Also, because I've been a long-time subscriber to the Sunday Ticket, I've seen many of Polamalu's games.

Polamalu was better.

Next excuse? ;)

Pretty much this.

Favre is way more fun to watch but Aikman is a much more sound player.

Probably the best example Catch. Well done.

I liked both Safeties a whole lot, and you couldn't go wrong with either, but for over-all, all around play, give me Woodson every time.

Yeah... It doesn't make me a homer to say I would take Woodson over Troy.

It just depends on the scheme.

If Rob Ryan is your coach then you want Polamalu..

If Rod Marinelli is your coach then you want Woodson.

I have to admit I wasn't able to watch Woodson in his prime. I really started watching and understanding the game his last few years. I've always thought Polamalu was overrated and just playing during a time where there just aren't any great safetys . Everyone says he's first ballot and I'm wondering is he that much better than Woodson?

Yes, he is.

Woodson was very good; not great. Polamalu was great in his prime. Cliff Harris and Charlie Waters were better than Woodson and you know where they stand.

lol at Rob Ryan. Schemeless coverage, confusion in the secondary, bluster over substance, haha. Well done, Catch.

Woodson was absolutely great.

The guy had 155 tackles in 1993 and twice hit the 5 INT mark. He was a 3x First Team All-Pro.

Woodson was great and a Cowboy, what more could you ask for, unless you are a steeler fan !

Opinion will vary. I do believe he should be in the ROH.

the media builtup Polamalu;; and he played for the steelers when they were good and most of woodys career the boys stank. The difference in the secondary between 2003 and 2004 when Woody was gone was immense; that alone should wake people like you up.

There have been only two players that played for the Steelers that I wished had been Cowboys: Mean Joe and Polamalu.

You know best about wake-sleeping.

Once again, it is a matter of opinion; keep thinking yourself the man about all things knowledgable.

Woodson was a lot better. There aren't very many defensive backs in history that could hit like a linebacker, run like a cornerback, and man cover slot WRs with ease.

If covering nobody your entire career and being a freelancer earns you hall of fame consideration, then where's the talk about Ed Reed? He was head and shoulders better than Polamalu.

I think is/was the best cover safety. He was also a better playmaker than both these guys.

Woodson was good, but I have to say Troy mad a ton of game changing plays. He also went 110% every play.

Implying that Woody didn't go 110% every play?
