No, we have not made the playoffs numerous times this era. The Cowboys have only made the playoffs 4 times since the year 2000.

Actually the Cowboys have made the playoffs 10 times since 2000. The record:

• 2006- Lost in first round

• 2009- won WC game; lost div round
• 2014- won WC game; lost div round
• 2016- (#1 seed) lost div round
• 2018- won WC game, lost div round
• 2021- lost in first round

Since 2000- 4 wins, 10 losses.
Made the playoffs 10 of the last 26 seasons (approximately 40%)

I think the level of confidence is tied to level of expectation. I’m confident this team will make the playoffs and Dak will crumble as he has already proven. If they get extremely lucky the team will carry Dak through one playoff win and than they lose.

Depends on what they are confident about.

Looking at the massive upgrades, there is no way any sane human could not be confident that we should be a playoff team. Playoff success is an entirely different matter.

Well said DE. I’ve ever felt comfortable thinking I knew what a team would be until it has been tested by the regular season and gthe normal adversity that comes at every team at some point.

Yeah the poll questions were all over the place. How can anyone be confident about a team before seeing them play? I voted very confident because none of the others were worthy.

How many good/great rosters have we seen crumble in spectacular fashion over the past 20 years? As a 34 year old fan that has never seen this team do anything significant, I’ll go with D.

With that being said I like the roster and I like the moves made in the offseason. I’m sure we’ll have some nice regular season moments/wins.

NFL training camps and pre-season games are under way. And in Oxnard, there is certainly a more positive feel than in the last two seasons.

So here’s the big question: With the excitement of a new season, new defensive coordinator, an apparently good draft (so far), and some other key player acquisitions…how confident are you in the Cowboys going into the 2026 season? And tell us why you picked that answer.

Will this team meet its positive expectations, exceed them, or be what they’ve been lately?

I picked C as my answer. Although I like a lot of what I’m seeing early, hype is always strong in TC. I will wait until the real bullets fly before determining what this team probably

I gotta see a few games, but I do have a much better feel about the vibe of the team.

Lots of leaders now, and not the wrong types like Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs. Much more quality character up and down the roster in key positions on both sides of the ball now.

They've taken a lot of the trash, and I give them absolute credit for doing that.

This is a playoff roster. Beyond making the playoffs, well, we still have #4.

Remember Romo had arguably the best team the Cowboys have had this era in 2007 with 13 Pro Bowlers and #1 seed.

He was the placeholder as backup QB and when they replaced Bledsoe in midseason they didn’t have a suitable replacement I guess to fill in for Romo.

And there wasn’t a problem until….

I chose B. I see a different energy with the team this year, but l don't know if that's going to translate to playoff success. I've read this book too many times in the past 30 years expecting a different result. I would probably change "will" to "could" in that question.
