Going to be very much dependent on some key new additions making the defense semi-respectable. But I feel like they were so incredibly bad they can move up to mediocre. Then if the offense is top five yeah they might make the playoffs.

I expect the offense will be very similar to what it has been the last few years. Top five offense no problem. I expected defense to be better than what it was last year. I don't know how good that defense can be with so many young players, but just being better with a top five offense. That's a recipe for at least playoff contention Dallas should absolutely be in the hunt to win their division. If not, possibly a wild card. I don't think the defense is going to be ready to take on the best of the best teams in the playoffs, but you never know

It’s really not much of a stretch. Most analysts said with our top 5 offense last year with any kind of defense hovering around average the Cowboys would have been a playoff team last year.

Shoot, if the ball bounces differently in our lost to Packers given we tried to win finale in NY we would have been a playoff team with historically worst defense in franchise history .

So, it’s really not much of a stretch to sense if our defense is improved with roster upgrades being the offense has been kept in tact this should be a playoff team this year.

Actually it should be higher than 48% for a playoff team. Now a championship team is over the top. There’s no evidence yet we have potential.

I get where you’re coming from and to some degree I’d agree but getting back to playoffs has to be considered an upward trend and something to build on.

But at some point soon the clock is running out on Prescott. He definitely has the offense around him to win now. If this defense is average or above the time is now and anything short of a championship appearance is going to taste much like the rest of this eras frustrations.

Zrin both arguments are reasonable. I can understand why some fans see the Cowboys as much improved. There are logical signs of that so far. Yes it won’t mean anything until real games start but there are reasons for some optimism.

And…it is also understandable why many fans are very skeptical about this team’s outlook. The 30 year drought is real and the people most responsible for it are still here. So I can also understand anyone having some skepticism. That’s valid too.

What I personally believe is we should tolerate either side of the argument. Especially now.
